With Fe2O3 as a proof-of-concept, free-standing nanomembrane structure is demonstrated to be highly advantageous to improve the performance of Li-ion batteries. The Fe2O3 nanomembrane electrodes exhibit ultra-long cycling life at high current rates with satisfactory capacity (808 mAh g(-1) after 1000 cycles at 2 C and 530 mAh g(-1) after 3000 cycles at 6 C) as well as repeatable high rate capability up to 50 C. The excellent performance benefits particularly from the unique structural advantages of the nanomembranes. The mechanical feature can buffer the strain of lithiation/delithiation to postpone the pulverization. The two-dimensional transport pathways in between the nanomembranes can promote the pseudo-capacitive type storage. The parallel-laid nanomembranes, which are coated by polymeric gel-like film and SEI layer with the electrolyte in between layers, electrochemically behave like numerous "mini-capacitors" to provide the pseudo-capacitance thus maintain the capacity at high rate.

, commonly known as , is a critical zoonotic pathogen that significantly reduces milk yield and product quality and poses a significant risk to public health. Although is increasingly recognised as a principal agent causing milkborne infections, research dedicated to this pathogen in dairy cattle has been less extensive than that of other pathogens. This study aimed to examine the antibiotic resistance profiles of derived from dairy cows and assess its pathogenicity using validated in vivo models.

The aim of this study was to develop a rapid, sensitive and highly specific TaqMan quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction PCR (qPCR) assay for porcine circovirus-like virus (PCLV). The primers and probe were designed based on the conserved regions of the PCLV ORF4 gene. The assay has a good detection performance (y=-3.

Gene Fusion Detection in Long-Read Transcriptome Datasets from Multiple Cancer Cell Lines.

Background: Fusion genes are important biomarkers in cancer research because their expression can produce abnormal proteins with oncogenic properties. Long-read RNA sequencing (long-read RNA-seq), which can sequence full-length mRNA transcripts, facilitates the detection of such fusion genes. Several tools have been proposed for detecting fusion genes in long-read RNA-seq datasets derived from cancer cells.

Role of NaCO as Nucleation Seeds to Accelerate the CO Uptake Kinetics of MgO-Based Sorbents.

There is an urgent need for inexpensive, functional materials that can capture and release CO under industrial conditions. In this context, MgO is a highly promising, earth-abundant CO sorbent. However, despite its favorable carbonation thermodynamics and potential for high gravimetric CO uptakes, MgO-based CO sorbents feature slow carbonation kinetics, limiting their CO uptake during typical industrial contact times.

Background: Surgery is the best approach to treat endometrial cancer (EC); however, there is currently a deficiency in effective scoring systems for predicting EC recurrence post-surgical resection. This study aims to develop a clinicopathological-inflammatory parameters-based nomogram to accurately predict the postoperative recurrence-free survival (RFS) rate of EC patients.

Methods: A training set containing 1068 patients and an independent validation set consisting of 537 patients were employed in this retrospective study.
