The oxidation of primary amines using a stoichiometric quantity of 4-acetamido-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxoammonium tetrafluoroborate (1) in CH2Cl2-pyridine solvent at room temperature or at gentle reflux affords nitriles in good yield under mild conditions. The mechanism of the oxidation, which has been investigated computationally, involves a hydride transfer from the amine to the oxygen atom of 1 as the rate-limiting step.

In this study, an integrated approach combining UHPLC-HRMS, H NMR spectroscopy, and sensory analysis unveiled the unique lipid fingerprint of long-ripened Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Coppa Piacentina. Lipidomic profiling revealed significant alterations in lipid classes, including triacylglycerols, sphingolipids, and their oxidation products, which likely contribute to the distinctive flavor, texture, and nutritional properties of this traditional Italian product. UHPLC-HRMS analysis identified various lipid species, highlighting dynamic changes occurring throughout the 240-day ripening process.

() is a significant pathogen associated with clinical mastitis in cattle. Anti-inflammatory drugs are necessary to alleviate pain and inflammation during clinical mastitis. Among many drugs, meloxicam (MEL) has been widely used in clinical mastitis because of its excellent inhibitory effect on the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme.

Purpose: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by non-pigmented ciliary epithelial (NPCE) cells under oxidative stress may contribute to primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) pathogenesis by altering gene expression in human trabecular meshwork (HTM) cells. This study investigated the impact of microRNAs (miRNAs) carried by NPCE-derived EVs on HTM cell gene expression under oxidative stress conditions.
Methods: NPCE cells were exposed to oxidative stress, and EVs were isolated from control and stressed cells.

An electrochemical investigation of 1,2- and 1,4-dihydroxybenzenes was carried out with platinum macro- and microelectrodes using square wave and cyclic voltammetry techniques. Furthermore, the effect of the two solvents-acetic acid and ethyl acetate-was compared. When using square wave voltammetry, signals only appeared at lower frequencies and only when the supporting electrolyte was in excess, as expected due to the relatively low permittivity of the used solvents.

Dental caries is one of the most prevalent dental illnesses in children. Untreated severe caries can damage teeth, requiring pulpotomy to save them. To evaluate the clinical success rate of treatments involving pulpotomies + IRM (Intermediate Restorative Material, composed of reinforced zinc oxide-eugenol polymers) + preformed metal crowns (PMCs) in primary teeth of children treated at a public university in Mexico.
