Health workers are crucial to the performance of a health system. Their situation is critical and this has been recognized as a global problem. The main challenges are their number, distribution, skills and performance conditions. Addressing these issues must necessarily involve a multifactorial, intersectoral and international approach, where determinant factors are: educational policies, forms of recruitment, permanency and termination of contract, issues that arise throughout their working cycle. In Chile, the management of health workers does not follow a comprehensive outlook. The type, number and distribution of technicians and professionals do not respond to a nationwide planning strategy, and there is no coordination between health authorities and universities. The result is that the system is not responding to the health needs of the population, nor is fulfilling the promise of a public service career that encourages good performance, investing in its human resources.

Abundant studies have documented the positive impact of mothers' empowerment on children's health and education in the Global South, but little is known about how maternal empowerment shapes children's gender beliefs. Using data from the India Human Development Survey, this study examines the relationship between mothers' empowerment and adolescent children's gender beliefs in India. Recognizing the multidimensionality of women's empowerment, we conduct latent class analysis to identify a six-class empowerment typology based on mothers' education, employment, decision-making power at home, mobility outside the home, and memberships in women's organizations.

Background: ICU nurses frequently confront lengthy working hours, elevated job intensity, heavy medical responsibilities, round-the-clock shifts, and a comparatively closed working environment. The high-risk, high-intensity, high-stress nature of the profession may prompt nurses to consider resignation, culminating in a significant shortage of nursing staff, adversely affecting the health and well-being of nurses. Necessitating a comprehensive investigation into the factors influencing their subjective well-being and the interrelations among these factors, thereby establishing a theoretical foundation for a more focused intervention program aimed at enhancing the subjective well-being of nurses.
