In this review our data on the comparative study of amyloid properties of titin family proteins and brain Abeta-peptides are represented. Approaches to the destruction of amyloid fibrils of muscle X-protein and brain Abeta(1-42)-peptides by various chemical compounds are also described.

Light chain (AL) amyloidosis is the most common systemic amyloid disease characterized by abnormal accumulation of amyloid fibrils derived from immunoglobulin light chains (LCs). Both full-length (FL) LCs and their isolated variable (VL) and constant (CL) domains contribute to amyloid deposits in multiple organs, with the VL domain predominantly forming the fibril core. Biofilm is an assemblage of microorganisms embedded within the extracellular matrix that provides mechanical stability, nutrient absorption, antimicrobial resistance, cell-cell interactions, and defence against host immune system. Various biomolecules such as lipids, carbohydrates, protein polymers (amyloid), and eDNA are present in the matrix playing significant role in determining the distinctive properties of biofilm. The formation of biofilms contributes to resistance against antimicrobial therapy in most of the human infections and exacerbates existing diseases.
