Published: November 2014

In the title compound, C15H10FIO2S, the dihedral angle between the planes of the benzo-furan ring system [r.m.s. deviation = 0.015 (2) Å] and the 3-fluoro-phenyl ring is 29.63 (7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into inversion dimers along the b-axis direction by two different pairs of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and I⋯O [3.228 (1) Å] contacts.

This study explores the concept of molecular orbital tuning for organic semiconductors through the use of '-diethynylated derivatives of 6,13-dihydro-6,13-diazapentacene ( and ). These novel molecules maintain the same molecular geometry and π-π stacking as their parent pentacene derivatives ( and ), as confirmed by X-ray crystallography. However, they exhibit altered frontier molecular orbitals in terms of the phase, nodal properties, and energy levels.

Direct current magnetron sputtering was employed to fabricate In-N dual-doped SnO films, with varying concentrations of N in a mixed sputtering gas of N and argon (Ar). The quantity of -substituted O elements in the SnO lattice was confirmed through energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). A comprehensive investigation of properties of the In-N dual-doped SnO films was conducted using various techniques, including X-ray diffraction analysis, field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy, Hall effect measurements, and current-voltage (-) characteristic assessments.

The efficacy of available treatments for melanoma is limited by side effects and the rapidly emerging resistance to treatment. In this context, the decavanadate compounds represent promising tools to design efficient therapeutic agents. In our study, we synthesized a dimagnesium disodium decavanadate icosahydrate compound (MgNaVO·20HO) and investigated its structure stability as well as its antimelanoma effects.

Titania (TiO) is one of promising photo catalysts for its high ability to resistant photo corrosion and environmental friendliness, but its photocatalytic activity is too low to be used in industry. To find an approach to solve this problem, graphene oxide (GO), tungsten trioxide (WO) and TiO composite with hollow mesoporous structure was prepared by a two-step spray drying method. The composite was used as raw material to constitute a membrane onto ITO glass to form a membrane photo-anode.
