Vigilant care aims at reducing adolescent risk behaviors while matching parental involvement to the level of alarm signs. This study examined the effect of parent training in vigilant care and technological feedback on driving risk of novice male drivers. A sample of 217 Israeli families was divided into four conditions: a) no-feedback, b) individual feedback, c) family feedback, and d) family feedback plus parent training in vigilant care. Feedback and risk assessment were conducted through in-vehicle data recorders. A significant difference was found in favor of the vigilant care group compared to the no feedback group. When only the drivers in the high risk percentiles were considered, the vigilant care group was found superior to the family feedback group. The findings suggest that parental training in vigilant care may help reduce driving risk.

Serotonin toxicity (ST) is a preventable, life-threatening condition caused by serotonergic agents. It typically arises from combined drug use that affects serotonin's release and metabolism. While often presenting with mild symptoms that may be overlooked or misdiagnosed, severe toxicity is associated with significant mortality.

Invasive aspergillosis (IA) is an opportunistic fungal infection that typically occurs in the immunocompromised host and is associated with severe morbidity and mortality. Myocardial abscess formation is seldomly described. We present a case of IA with purulent myocarditis.

Androgen secretion by testicular germ-cell tumors (GCTs) appears to be markedly rare and likely underreported in the literature. This case study highlights a patient with such a rare tumor, underscoring a notable and yet easily avoidable diagnostic oversight in one of the most prevalent cancers among men. We advocate for increased vigilance and the inclusion of specific symptomatic screening for hyperandrogenism of select patients in existing guidelines and, where appropriate, the implementation of standardized hormonal laboratory analyses in both pre- and post-orchidectomy assessments.

Background: Immunotherapy, including the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors such as nivolumab, is increasingly common in cancer treatment and can lead to various immune-related adverse effects, including rare cases of diabetic ketoacidosis. This case report highlights an unique instance of nivolumab-induced diabetic ketoacidosis in a patient without prior history of diabetes, emphasizing the importance of careful monitoring even in those without traditional risk factors.
Case Presentation: We report a case of a 70-year-old Caucasian male with metastatic esophageal adenocarcinoma who developed diabetic ketoacidosis 3 weeks after stopping nivolumab therapy.

EEG monitoring during anesthesia or for diagnosing sleep disorders is a common standard. Different approaches for measuring the important information of this biosignal are used. The most often and efficient one for entropic parameters is permutation entropy as it can distinguish the vigilance states in the different settings.
