Introduction: The shift in therapeutic concepts from resection to regeneration has significantly impacted the practice of periodontology. Human studies have revealed that hydroxyapatite bone cement holds great promise as a grafting alloplastic material.
Aims And Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of OSSIFI(®) (combined beta tricalcium phosphate plus hydroxyapatite) in the treatment of periodontal infrabony defects.
Materials And Methods: Ten study subjects were selected and divided into two groups. Group I (PD>7mm) and Group II (PD≤ 7mm). Both Groups I and II were treated by regenerative periodontal surgery using OSSIFI(®) as graft material. Plaque index, gingival index, pocket depth, clinical attachment levels were recorded clinically and bone fill, radiographically, at baseline, three months and six months.
Results And Conclusion: Statistically significant reduction in pocket depth, plaque index, gingival index was seen after six months. There was significant bone fill seen from 3-6months with significant gain in clinical attachment levels.

Purpose: The AVeNEW Post-Approval Study (AVeNEW PAS) follows upon results from the AVeNEW IDE clinical trial and was designed to provide additional clinical evidence of safety and effectiveness using the Covera™ Vascular Covered Stent to treat arteriovenous fistula (AVF) stenoses in a real-world hemodialysis patient population.
Materials And Methods: One hundred AVF patients were prospectively enrolled at 11 clinical trial sites in the USA and treated with the covered stent after angioplasty of a clinically significant target stenosis. The primary safety outcome was freedom from any adverse event that suggests the involvement of the AV access circuit evaluated at 30 days.

Purpose: This study assesses the efficacy and safety of Portal Vein Recanalization with Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (PVR-TIPS) in non-cirrhotic patients with chronic portal vein occlusion (CPVO), cavernomatous transformation, and symptomatic portal hypertension (PH) and/or portal vein thrombotic progression.
Material And Methods: Medical records of 21 non-cirrhotic patients with CPVO and portal cavernoma undergoing PVR-TIPS were analyzed. Hemodynamic (intraprocedural reduction in portosystemic pressure gradient), clinical (data on gastrointestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, ascites, and presence of esophageal varices from imaging exams) and technical success (PVR-TIPS) assessed efficacy.

Background: A wound must progress through serial steps of healing to achieve structural and functional stability. This process is hampered in chronic wounds and wounds with delayed healing. Wound cover through skin grafting or a flap, or spontaneous healing through epithelization, requires healthy granulation tissue.

Tolerogenic dendritic cells with professional antigen presentation via major histocompatibility complex molecules, co-stimulatory molecules (CD80/86), and interleukin 10 production have attracted significant attention as cellular therapies for autoimmune, allergic, and graft-versus-host diseases. In this study, we developed a cell culture dish equipped with polycation-porphyrin-conjugate-immobilized glass (PA-HP-G) to stimulate immature murine dendritic cell (iDCs). Upon irradiation with a red light at 635 nm toward the PA-HP-G surface, singlet oxygen was generated by the immobilized porphyrins on the PA-HP-G surface.
