The aim of this study was to describe the harnessing of corneas captured and processed for transplantation in an ocular tissue bank in north-eastern Brazil. This was a transverse and retrospective study, with a sample group of 612 individuals whose corneas were do- nated and captured between January/2007 and July/2012. This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee under number 007.0.294.000-10, and research was based on an instrument consisting of social, demographic and clinical data of the donors. Of the 1209 corneas captured, 868 were used and 341 were discarded. Of the 612 donors, the corneas of 597 (97.5%) were captured from both eyes, being that 423 (70.9%) of these corneas were used. Further studies are required on the reasons for discarding corneas and clarifications as to the conduct of professionals when processing corneas, considering the increase in the quantity of donors and the elevated number of discarded ocular tissue.

Objective: This study primarily aimed to compare the accuracy of three convolutional neural network (CNN) models in measuring the four positions of ocular duction. Further, it secondarily aimed to compare the accuracy of each CNN model in the training dataset versus the ophthalmologist measurements.
Methods: This study included 526 subjects aged over 18 who visited the ophthalmology outpatient department.

Purpose: To report interim results of a single center, randomized, double-blind, crossover-controlled clinical trial comparing wavefront-guided (wfg) scleral lenses (SLs) to traditional scleral lenses (tSLs) for patients with a history of irregular corneal astigmatism (ICA).
Methods: Thirty-one ICA eyes of 18 participants were reviewed, 23 with keratoconus, six postcorneal refractive ectasia, and two postpenetrating keratoplasty. Patients with corneal or lens opacities were not excluded from participating.

Image segmentation of the corneal endothelium with deep convolutional neural networks (CNN) is challenging due to the scarcity of expert-annotated data. This work proposes a data augmentation technique via warping to enhance the performance of semi-supervised training of CNNs for accurate segmentation. We use a unique augmentation process for images and masks involving keypoint extraction, Delaunay triangulation, local affine transformations, and mask refinement.

Introduction: Intra-ocular lens (IOL) calcification is a rare yet serious complication, presenting as clouding within the optics of IOL and necessitating IOL exchange.
Patient And Clinical Findings: In this case, a 77-year-old male experienced gradual vision loss in his left eye (LE) over four years post-cataract surgery a decade before. His best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 3/60 in the LE, with the anterior segment displaying a clear cornea but an opacified IOL within the capsular bag.
