The application of traditional morphological and ecological species concepts to closely related, asexual fungal taxa is challenging due to the lack of distinctive morphological characters and frequent cosmopolitan and plurivorous behaviour. As a result, multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA) has become a powerful and widely used tool to recognise and delimit independent evolutionary lineages (IEL) in fungi. However, MLSA can mask discordances in individual gene trees and lead to misinterpretation of speciation events.

Background: Use of negative pressure wound therapy with instillation and dwell time (NPWTi-d) of a topical wound solution has been limited in some settings due to perceptions of setup complexity. Typically, some guesswork was needed to estimate an adequate volume of solution to instill without causing leaks. A novel smart technology is recently available in certain NPWTi-d systems that automatically estimates and instills a solution volume according to wound dimensions.

Background: Many vascular anomalies harbor postzygotic somatic variants in GNAQ and GNA11; however, the phenotype of specific G-protein variants has not been well described. We report the clinical characteristics of 17 patients with a GNA11 R183C variant.
Methods: This case series is derived from a multinational cohort of vascular anomaly patients whose pathogenic mutations were identified using high-depth next generation sequencing.

Introduction: Lichen planus pigmentosus (LPP) is an acquired pigmentary disorder affecting the dark-skinned population. There is a wide range of differentials, with substantial clinicopathological overlap. Dermoscopy may contribute to the better characterization of this dermatosis.

Reticulate pigmentary disorders can be classified into inherited or acquired and cutaneous drug- induced reticulate hyperpigmentation belongs to this last group. The list of the drugs involved is constantly increasing and chemotherapy agents are frequently implicated. We report a new case of chemotherapy-related reticulate hyperpigmentation to gemcitabine, even though a previous chemotherapy with nanoparticle, albumin-bound (Nab®) paclitaxel and gemcitabine may have promoted the onset of the disease.
