A nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methodology was assessed regarding the identification and quantification of additives in three types of polylactide (PLA) intended as food contact materials. Additives were identified using the LNE/NMR database which clusters NMR datasets on more than 130 substances authorized by European Regulation No. 10/2011. Of the 12 additives spiked in the three types of PLA pellets, 10 were rapidly identified by the database and correlated with spectral comparison. The levels of the 12 additives were estimated using quantitative NMR combined with graphical computation. A comparison with chromatographic methods tended to prove the sensitivity of NMR by demonstrating an analytical difference of less than 15%. Our results therefore demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed NMR methodology for rapid assessment of the composition of PLA.

Breast cancer is a significant cause of death from cancer in women globally, highlighting the need for improved diagnostic imaging to enhance patient outcomes. Accurate tumor identification is essential for diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring, emphasizing the importance of advanced imaging technologies that provide detailed views of tumor characteristics and disease. Recently, a new imaging modality named synthetic correlated diffusion imaging (CDI) has been showing promise for enhanced prostate cancer delineation when compared to existing MRI imaging modalities.

Neurodegenerative diseases (NDs), such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD), are debilitating conditions that affect millions worldwide, and the number of cases is expected to rise significantly in the coming years. Because early detection is crucial for effective intervention strategies, this study investigates whether the structural analysis of selected brain regions, including volumes and their spatial relationships obtained from regular T1-weighted MRI scans ( = 168, PPMI database), can model stages of PD using standard machine learning (ML) techniques. Thus, diverse ML models, including Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Support Vector Classifier, and Rough Sets, were trained and evaluated.

Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) is a key regulator of blood pressure, and ACE inhibition is an essential part of the treatment of hypertension. We used a molecular docking approach to find the interaction of ACE with an active flavonoid isolated from Linn, , which leads to potential antihypertensive effects in methyl predenisolone-induced hypertensive rats. Additionally, the pharmacokinetic parameters of this compound are assessed.

New tributyltin(IV) complexes containing the carboxylate ligands 3-(4-methyl-2-oxoquinolin-1(2H)-yl)propanoic acid () and 2-(4-methyl-2-oxoquinolin-1(2H)-yl)acetic acid () have been synthesized. Their structures have been determined by elemental microanalysis, FT-IR and multinuclear NMR (H, C and Sn) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction study. A solution state NMR analysis reveals a four-coordinated tributyltin(IV) complex in non-polar solvents, while an X-Ray crystallographic analysis confirms a five-coordinated trigonal-bipyramidal geometry around the tin atom due to the formation of 1D chains.
