Utilizing the high temporal resolution of event-related potentials (ERPs), we examined the effects of temporal reliability of sounds on visual detection. Significantly faster reaction times to visual target stimuli were observed when reliable temporal information was provided by a task-irrelevant auditory stimulus. Three main ERP components related to the effects of auditory temporal reliability were found: the first at 180-240 ms over a wide central area, the second at 300-400 ms over an anterior area, and the third at 300-380 ms over bilateral temporal areas. Our results support the hypothesis that temporal reliability affects visual detection and indicate that auditory facilitation of visual detection is partly due to spread of attention and thus results from implicit temporal linking of auditory and visual information at a relatively late processing stage.

Objective This study aims to develop predictive models for speech outcomes at 6, 12, and 24 months post-cochlear implantation in pre-lingual deaf children. Using longitudinal Category of Auditory Performance (CAP), Speech Intelligibility Rating (SIR), and Parents' Evaluation of Aural/Oral Performance of Children (PEACH) scores, it seeks to forecast cognitive and verbal development. The study addresses the gap in correlating auditory performance with cognitive milestones by integrating longitudinal auditory data with cognitive and verbal benchmarks to identify predictive relationships.

: Maternal nutrition during pregnancy exerts a significant influence on both maternal and foetal health, as well as long-term child development. Despite its importance, adherence to dietary guidelines among pregnant women remains low. The present study aimed to develop and validate the Italian Pregnancy Nutrition Knowledge Questionnaire (ItPreNKQ), based on national dietary guidelines for the pregnant Italian population, assessing its reliability and validity.

Multi-timescale optimization scheduling of integrated energy systems oriented towards generalized energy storage services.

School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Huizhou University, Huizhou, 516007, Guangdong, P.R. China.

This paper addresses the limitations of existing research that focuses on single-sided resources and two-timescale optimization, overlooking the coordinated response of various energy storage resources across different timescales in comprehensive energy systems. To tackle these shortcomings, the study integrates flexible demand-side resources, such as electric vehicles (EVs), hydrogen storage, and air conditioning clusters, as generalized energy storage. It explores their impact on the operation cost of the comprehensive energy system across three stages: day-ahead, intraday, and real-time.

Objectives: Both imaging and temporal artery biopsy (TAB) are utilized to confirm a suspected diagnosis of giant cell arteritis (GCA). What are the advantages of imaging over TAB?

Methods: This article is based on a debate presented at the 21st Vasculitis Meeting, discussing whether imaging or TAB with histology should be the primary diagnostic method for suspected GCA.

Results: A suspected diagnosis of GCA should be confirmed or excluded either through imaging or histology.
