Activity of alkaline phosphatase (apical membrane) and Na+, K+-ATPase (basal membrane) is determined to decrease in the membrane fractions of intestinal epithelium in the diarrheic new born cattle. It is concluded that Na+, K+-ATPase of basal membranes play a fundamental role in Na+ loss by body with diarrhea.
