We present a case of primary tendon grafting in a 14-month-old infant for an index finger flexor digitorum profundus tendon laceration sustained during cesarean section with excellent functional results at 2-year follow-up.

Throughout childhood growth and development, both the nervous and the musculoskeletal systems undergo rapid change. The goal of this study was to examine the impact of growth-related changes in skeletal size and muscle strength on the neural control of finger force generation. By modifying an existing OpenSim hand model in accordance with pediatric anthropometric data, we created 10 distinct models representing males and females at each year of development from 6 to 10 years old.

Sarcopenia corresponds to a decrease in muscle mass and strength. CCL5 is a new myokine whose expression, along with the CCR5 receptor, is increased in sarcopenic muscle. Background: Quantitative ultrasound imaging is a popular technique to assess the structural properties of the intrinsic and extrinsic foot muscles. Although several studies examined test-retest reliability, specific gaps remain in assessing inter-rater reliability, particularly distinguishing between image acquisition and muscle measurement. This study investigates the effects of photobiomodulation (PBM) with a 660-nm laser on nerve regeneration and muscle morphometry following median nerve axonotmesis in rats.
