Understanding brain function relies on identifying spatiotemporal patterns in brain activity. In recent years, machine learning methods have been widely used to detect connections between regions of interest (ROIs) involved in cognitive functions, as measured by the fMRI technique. However, it's essential to match the type of learning method to the problem type, and extracting the information about the most important ROI connections might be challenging.

Background: Skull-base surgery, including skull-base meningiomas (SBMs), is among the most challenging medical fields which has witnessed leaps in advancement, owing to ever evolving technological and scientific progress. We performed a comprehensive bibliometric analysis and analysis of clinical reports on SBMs to describe the evolution and identify trends and relationships between basic and applied research in the field.
Methods: The study was a qualitative and quantitative bibliometric analysis of SBM research and review of SBM clinical series via a systematic search of the Web of Science for SBM topics and SBM case series.

The Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) was first published in The Lancet by Sir Graham Teasdale and Bryan Jennett 50 years ago based on their pioneering work on developing a numerical scale to describe coma in clear and reproducible terms and to avoid the confusion associated with the wide variety of descriptive terms for consciousness that were in use at the time. It's difficult to know if Teasdale and Jennett could have predicted how influential, widespread and long-lasting the GCS would become, but in retrospect it seems clear that the GCS was introduced at a perfect stage in the development of modern clinical neurosurgery and neuroscience research. The simplicity of the scale, its recognition by senior academics and the emerging radiology technologies in the 1970s heralded a new era of neuroscience and an approach to the management of not only traumatic brain injury (TBI) but other types of central nervous system disease in which consciousness was affected, such as aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage and stroke.

Despite research advances and progress in health care, schizophrenia remains a debilitating and costly disease. Onset occurs typically during youth and can lead to a relapsing and ultimately chronic course with persistent symptoms and functional impairment if not promptly and properly treated. Consequently, over time, schizophrenia causes substantial distress and disability for patients, their families and accrues to a collective burden to society.

However, most insights into their educational experiences come from educators and parents. There is a gap in understanding autistic children's perspectives on their educational experiences.
