The thermal homeostasis of rabbits in thermoneutral zone were studied in the paper. Both in the experiment and in the model were shown that the temperature in the shell of the animal was changed without changing the core (nuclear) temperature when the temperature of the environment was changed and the heat production and delivery were remained unchanging. In the model was obtained this phenomenon was due to changing the shell and the core values, and was connected with blood flow variations in the shell. The latter mechanism was assessed as a principal one for active and quick regulation of the organism temperature and support of constant core temperature without significant and energy consumed is changing the heat production and delivery in thermoneutral zone of the mammalians. So, the thermoneutral zone is supported by the mechanism described, and the value of the thermoneutral zone is due to the shell size.

In a warming world, it is crucial to understand how rising temperature affects the physiology of organisms. To investigate the effect of a warming environment on the metabolism of heterothermic bats during the costly lactation period, we characterised metabolic rates in relation to roost temperature, the bats' thermoregulatory state (normothermia or torpor), time of day and age of juveniles. In a field experiment, we heated the communal roosts of a wild colony of Bechstein's bats (Myotis bechsteinii) every other day while measuring metabolic rates using flow-through respirometry.

The thermal neutral zone (TNZ) represents a fundamental concept in the thermal physiology of homeothermic organisms. This study investigated the efficacy of probiotics () and ascorbic acid as antistress agents using cloacal and body surface temperatures (CT and BST) as heat stress biomarkers in broiler chickens. Lactation is the most energetically demanding time in the life of female mammals. To maximize lifetime reproductive success, females of long-lived species, such as bats, face a trade-off between investing in current and future reproduction. However, it is unclear whether global warming could influence this trade-off through shifts in the energy budget: warmer temperatures may reduce thermoregulatory costs, leaving mothers with more energy available for maternal care or for improving their own body condition (BC), which may increase survival and ensure future reproduction.
