AI Article Synopsis

  • The biological model of hypoxia helps diagnose changes in human red blood cells affected by low oxygen levels.
  • Combining this model with modern scanning probe microscopy techniques allows for a better assessment of lung diseases in older patients.
  • This approach can also enhance predictions regarding treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.

Article Abstract

Biological model of hypoxia can be used for the diagnosis of functional changes in human erythrocytes under the effect of the hypoxic factor. The use of this model together with modern methods of scanning probe microscopy for evaluation of the severity of pulmonological disease in senile patients will help to predict treatment efficiency and outcome.

Background: Recent single-cell omics analyses have revealed that microglia change into reactive microglia when Aβ accumulates in the brain and exhibit Aβ phagocytosis. However, reactive microglia are less likely to be induced in TREM2 mutation carriers. This microglia-centred pathological mechanism may be considered one of the pathologies of AD.

One of the positive aspects of the implementation of laboratory information systems (LIS) in a medical organization, according to the plan of the Federal project of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation to create a unified digital circuit in healthcare, is the emergence of the ability to download large amounts of laboratory research data and analyze them. The purpose of the work is to assess the possibility of a unified digital circuit in providing operational monitoring of carbohydrate metabolism in middle-aged, elderly and senile people in the context of COVID-19. The materials used are the primary data of laboratory research results from the LIS «Ariadna.

According to the federal register, up to 3,77 million elderly Russians have a confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2), the most important criterion for the effectiveness of treatment of which is the achievement of therapeutic control targets. At the same time, the structure of the algorithm for their assessment in elderly patients is quite complex and involves the analysis of many different parameters, including indicators of geriatric status. The aim of the study was to develop a digital clinical calculator for determining individual goals of DM2 control in elderly patients based on the principles of evidence-based medicine.

The topic of the timing of the manifestation of age-associated diseases (as an indirect indicator of accelerated population aging) after the transfer of COVID-19 remains an urgent area in scientific research. Early targeted diagnosis can significantly reduce the consequences of pathology, in connection with which the features of the manifestation of various nosologies in the post-COVID period were studied. The materials were the accounting and statistical data of the municipal polyclinics of the Sakhalin Region for the pre-COVID (2017-2019) and post-COVID (2022-2023) periods.
