Measurements of the flux of fusion products from high temperature plasmas provide valuable insights into the ion energy distribution, as the fusion reaction rate is a very sensitive function of ion energy. In C-2, where field reversed configuration plasmas are formed by the collision of two compact toroids and partially sustained by high power neutral beam injection [M. Binderbauer et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 105, 045003 (2010); M. Tuszewski et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 108, 255008 (2012)], measurements of DD fusion neutron flux are used to diagnose ion temperature and study fast ion confinement and dynamics. In this paper, we will describe the development of a new 3 MeV proton detector that will complement existing neutron detectors. The detector is a large area (50 cm(2)), partially depleted, ion implanted silicon diode operated in a pulse counting regime. While the scintillator-based neutron detectors allow for high time resolution measurements (∼100 kHz), they have no spatial or energy resolution. The proton detector will provide 10 cm spatial resolution, allowing us to determine if the axial distribution of fast ions is consistent with classical fast ion theory or whether anomalous scattering mechanisms are active. We will describe in detail the diagnostic design and present initial data from a neutral beam test chamber.

Electrocatalytic reduction of CO (eCORR) into valuable multi-carbon (C) products is an effective strategy for combating climate change and mitigating energy crises. The high-energy density and diverse applications of C products have attracted considerable interest. However, the complexity of the reaction pathways and the high energy barriers to C-C coupling lead to lower selectivity and faradaic efficiency for C products than for C products.

Dual atomic nanozymes (DAzymes) are promising for applications in the field of tumor catalytic therapy. Here, integrating with ultrasmall FeC nanoclusters, asymmetric coordination featuring Janus Zn-Fe dual-atom sites with an ON-Fe-Zn-N moiety embedded in a carbon vacancy-engineered hollow nanobox (Janus ZnFe DAs-FeC) was elaborately developed. Theoretical calculation revealed that the synergistic effects of Zn centers acting as both adsorption and active sites, oxygen-heteroatom doping, carbon vacancy, and FeC nanoclusters jointly downshifted the d-band center of Fe 3d orbitals, optimizing the desorption behaviors of intermediates *OH, thereby significantly promoting catalytic activity.

The limited transport of oxygen at the solid-liquid interface and the poor charge separation efficiency of single catalyst significantly impedes the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), thereby weakening the application potential of photocatalytic technology in water pollution control. Herein, a hollow porous photocatalytic aerogel sphere (calcium alginate/cellulose nanofibers (CA/CNF)) loaded BiOBr/TiC, combining a favourable mass transfer structure with effective catalytic centers was firstly presented. The floatability and hollow pore structure facilitated rapid O transfer via a triphase interface, thereby promoting the generation of ROS.

Natural products and their derivatives are precious resources with extensive applications in various industrial fields. Enzymatic glycosylation is an efficient approach for chemical structure diversification and biological activity alternation of natural products. Herein, we reported a stereoselective glycosylation of complex natural product glycosides catalyzed by two carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZys).

Although MXenes have attracted significant attention across diverse fields, they exhibit a pronounced susceptibility to oxidation in aqueous environments, with oxidation significantly accelerated in the presence of transition metal ions (TMI) such as Fe and Cu. This limitation impedes the synthesis of transition metal compounds/MXene-based composites and their potential for functional applications. In this study, we elucidate the mechanism of accelerated oxidation of TiCT is that Fe promotes the electron loss in TiCT, thus leading to an increased production of hydroxyl radicals (OH) to oxidize TiCT.
