In the past decade diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound (US) has revolutionized the approach of treating the pa- tients with inflammatory rheumatic conditions. There is still need for further efforts in establishing the US as a standard tool in everyday rheumatologic practice. Ap- propriate education and training is essential to standard- ize the method. Main limitation of the method is the lack of time for performing US examination because the US is time consuming. Concerns regarding the validity and reproducibility are being addressed. Nowadays in rheu- matology, potential in using US lies in its possibility for early and accurate diagnosis of arthritis, monitoring of the disease and conduction of US-lead interventions in rheumatology.

Studies demonstrate that mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) experience depression and are less likely to seek professional psychological help. This study examined the roles of coping strategies in predicting psychological help-seeking attitudes among mothers of children with ASD. A total of 250 Turkish mothers of children with autism were recruited using purposive sampling during their training at the autism center in Istanbul.

Protective role of Angiogenin in muscle regeneration in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: Diagnostic and therapeutic implications.

Brain Pathol

December 2024

Laboratory of Neurobiology and Molecular Therapeutics, Department of Neuroscience, Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri IRCCS, Milano, Italy.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neuromuscular disease with no effective treatments, in part caused by variations in progression and the absence of biomarkers. Mice carrying the SOD1G93A transgene with different genetic backgrounds show variable disease rates, reflecting the diversity of patients. While extensive research has been done on the involvement of the central nervous system, the role of skeletal muscle remains underexplored.

The shortfall of seafarers is a constant challenge in the shipping industry. With the development of the world economy and changes in employees' psychological indicators, seafarers' spiritual needs play an increasingly important role in their work intentions. This study proposed that seafarers' work values should be a useful explanation for the shortfall of seafarers.

Manipulating Interphase Chemistry for Aqueous Zn Stabilization: The Role of Supersaturation.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

December 2024

Guangdong University of Technology, school of chemical engineering and light industry, Panyu, Guangzhou University City Outer Ring Road No. 100, 510006, Gaungzhou, CHINA.

The limited cycling durability of Zn anode, attributed to the absence of a robust electrolyte-derived solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), remains the bottleneck for the practical deployment of aqueous zinc batteries. Herein, we highlight the role of local supersaturation in governing the fundamental crystallization chemistry of Zn4SO4(OH)6·xH2O (ZSH) and propose a subtle supersaturation-controlled morphology strategy to tailor the interphase chemistry of Zn anode. By judiciously creating local high-supersaturation environment with organic caprolactam to manipulate the precipitation manner of zinc sulfate hydroxide (ZSH), lattice-lattice matched heterogeneous nucleation of ZSH (001) and Zn (002) is realized in aqueous ZnSO4, producing a dense, pseudo-coincidence interface capable of functioning as decent SEI.

Fibrosis is the main pathological feature of aortic stiffness, which is a common extracardiac comorbidity of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and a contributor to left ventricular (LV) diastolic dysfunction. Systemic low-grade inflammation plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of HFpEF and the development of vascular fibrosis. In this study, we investigate the inflammatory mechanism of aortic fibrosis in HFpEF using a novel mouse model.
