Recent years have seen an emphasis on delivering mental health and wellbeing support in school settings. However, the process by which schools meet this resource allocation challenge is largely undocumented. Our study used theory-building process tracing to develop a mechanistic understanding of the process of mental health investment in schools.

Sengers Syndrome (SS) is a rare autosomal recessive mitochondrial disorder caused by mutations in the acylglycerol kinase (AGK) gene on chromosome 7, also known as cardiomyopathic mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome (MTDPS10). This disorder disrupts mitochondrial DNA function and energy metabolism, presenting with symptoms such as congenital cataracts, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, skeletal myopathy, exercise intolerance, and lactic acidosis. Previous research has shown SS affects oxidative phosphorylation and mitochondrial respiration, implicating the TIM22 complex and carrier import.

In a variety of settings, cortisol and testosterone are positively "coupled." That is, within-person fluctuations of these hormones occur in parallel, with increases and decreases in one hormone corresponding to increases and decreases in the other. A dataset comprised of salivary cortisol and testosterone levels from varsity women athletes from six different Emory University sports teams (volleyball 2002, 2005, and 2008; softball 2004; tennis 2009; soccer 2013) was used to explore the relationship between coupling and hormone reactivity to athletic competition.

One of the underlying mechanisms of epilepsy (EP), a brain disease characterized by recurrent seizures, is considered to be cell death. Disulfidptosis, a proposed novel cell death mechanism, is thought to play a part in the pathogenesis of epilepsy, but the exact role is unclear. The gene expression omnibus series (GSE) 33000 and GSE63808 datasets were used to search for differentially expressed disulfidptosis-related molecules (DE-DRMs).
