Microcirculation lesion is a common symptom of chronic liver diseases in the form of vasculature deformation and circulation alteration. In acute to chronic liver diseases such as biliary atresia, microcirculation lesion can have an early onset. Detection of microcirculation lesion is meaningful for studying the progression of liver disease. We have combined wide-field fluorescence microscopy and a laser speckle contrast technique to characterize hepatic microcirculation in vivo without labeling in a bile-duct ligation rat fibrosis model of biliary atresia. Through quantitative image analysis of four microcirculation parameters, we observed significant microcirculation lesion in the early to middle stages of fibrosis. This bimodal imaging method is useful to assess hepatic microcirculation lesion for the study of liver diseases.

Background: Dementia aggravates most cerebrovascular lesions, which requires differentiating the developed microcirculatory changes when making a diagnosis. We consider the features of cerebral microcirculation disorders in Alzheimer's disease (AD), distal cerebral atherosclerosis, Binswanger's disease (BD), and vascular parkinsonism (VP).
Method: The study included 1024 patients who underwent: assessment of CDR, TDR, MMSE, cerebral MRI, MRA, CT, MSCTA, scintigraphy (SG), rheoencephalography (REG), cerebral multi-gated angiography (MUGA).

Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) is a rare but life-threatening disease that occurs after organ transplantation. Histopathology is the gold standard for the diagnosis of PTLD. Because of its rarity and atypical symptoms, many patients are misdiagnosed with liver abscess, liver cancer, or missed diagnosis long before pathological diagnosis is obtained, thus delaying treatment.

Background: Early detection of cardiac allograft vasculopathy after heart transplant (HTx) with invasive coronary angiography is challenging.
Aims: The study aimed to determine if computational techniques able to assess epicardial lesions, by means of Murray's law-based quantitative flow ratio (μFR), and microvascular physiology, by means of angiography microvascular resistance (AMR), enhance risk stratification in HTx patients with nonsignificant coronary artery disease.
Methods: The cohort consisted of 86 consecutive HTx patients (200 epicardial vessels) with stenosis < 50% at baseline.

Background/objectives: Hypertension exerts negative effects on the vasculature representing a key risk factor for cardiovascular disorders, cerebral and Cerebral Small Vessel Disease (CSVD).
Methods: An extensive research in the literature was implemented in order to elucidate the role of hypertension in the pathogenesis of CSVD.
Results: Hypertension-mediated vascular dysfunction and chronic cerebral hypoperfusion are closely linked to CSVD.

Background And Objective: Predicting post-operative flow is essential for assessing the risk of adverse events in cerebrovascular stenosis patients following endovascular treatment (EVT). This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the CFD simulation model in predicting post-operative velocity, flow and pressure distal to a stenosis, based on cerebrovascular microcirculatory resistance.
Methods: The patient-specific models of the extracranial and intracranial arteries were reconstructed.
