Conventionally, the size, shape, and biomechanics of cartilages are determined by their voluminous extracellular matrix. By contrast, we found that multiple murine cartilages consist of lipid-filled cells called lipochondrocytes. Despite resembling adipocytes, lipochondrocytes were molecularly distinct and produced lipids exclusively through de novo lipogenesis.

Background: The fibrosis of pathologic scar (PS) is formed by the excessive deposition of extracellular matrix, resulting in an abnormal scar. Recent clinical tests have indicated that the regulation of PS fibroblast cells (PSF cells) proliferation can serve as an intervention measure for PS. Our work aimed to elucidate the specific mechanism of action of TCF4 on the progression of PS fibrosis.

Background And Aims: Current knowledge about upper extremity artery disease (UEAD) is scarce. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence, treatment patterns, and short- and long-term outcomes of patients suffering from UEAD.
Methods: Retrospective health claims data of patients who were hospitalized with a primary diagnosis of UEAD between 2010 and 2017 were analysed.

Pregnant ewes mobilize body fat to increase energy supply for fetal growth and development upon undernutrition, which disrupts the metabolic homeostasis of the body. However, the comprehensive metabolic changes in subcutaneous adipose tissue upon undernutrition are poorly understood. In this study, an undernutrition sheep model was established to investigate the effects of undernutrition on metabolic changes, immune response, and inflammation in subcutaneous fat through transcriptome, RT-qPCR, and metabolome analysis.
