We propose a technique to overcome phase mismatch in Josephson-junction traveling wave parametric amplifiers in order to achieve high gain over a broad bandwidth. Using "resonant phase matching," we design a compact superconducting device consisting of a transmission line with subwavelength resonant inclusions that simultaneously achieves a gain of 20 dB, an instantaneous bandwidth of 3 GHz, and a saturation power of -98 dBm. Such an amplifier is well suited to cryogenic broadband microwave measurements such as the multiplexed readout of quantum coherent circuits based on superconducting, semiconducting, or nanomechanical elements, as well as traditional astronomical detectors.

The shear wave speed is often small compared to the compressional wave speed in the top part of the seabed, where acoustic normal modes penetrate. In sediments with weak but finite shear rigidity, the strongest conversion from compressional to shear waves occurs at interfaces within the sediment. Shear wave generation at such interfaces and interference within sediment layers lead to first-order perturbations in the normal mode phase speed and contributions to sound attenuation, which vary rapidly with frequency.

The anisotropic mechanical properties of fiber-embedded biological tissues are essential for understanding their development, aging, disease progression, and response to therapy. However, accurate and fast assessment of mechanical anisotropy in vivo using elastography remains challenging. To address the dilemma of achieving both accuracy and efficiency in this inverse problem involving complex wave equations, we propose a computational framework that utilizes the traveling wave expansion model.

Hypothesis: Coherent structures by low-Stokes-number particles are induced within a closed flow, in which ordered flow regions known as Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser (KAM) tori emerge. A variety of structures with different spatial characteristics has been predicted by varying the Stokes number, whereas the coexistence of structures in flow suspending various types of particles has not been hitherto demonstrated.
Experiments: Half-zone liquid bridges of O () are prepared as a closed system to induce thermocapillary-driven time-dependent flow under normal gravity conditions.

As novel, anti-amyloid therapies have become more widely available, access to timely and accurate diagnosis has become integral to ensuring optimal treatment of patients with early-stage Alzheimer's disease (AD). Plasma biomarkers are a promising tool for identifying AD pathology; however, several technical and clinical factors need to be considered prior to their implementation in routine clinical use. Given the rapid pace of advancements in the field and the wide array of available biomarkers and tests, this review aims to summarize these considerations, evaluate available platforms, and discuss the steps needed to bring plasma biomarker testing to the clinic.
