Objective: Despite efforts in recent years to expand the availability of prehospital care in low- and middle-income countries, its availability remains limited in many regions. The World Health Organization advocates the development of layperson first responder programmes as a supportive step in building functioning prehospital systems. This study aimed to identify the need for, and acceptability of, a community first responder programme to increase out-of-hospital capacity in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Background: Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the most prevalent pathogens responsible for multiple infections in healthcare settings and the community. K. pneumoniae CG147, primarily including ST147 (the founder ST), ST273, and ST392, is one of the most globally successful MDR clone linked to various carbapenemases.

Both acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease are risk factors for many outcomes of gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB). These are associated with higher mortality, longer hospitalisation, and greater need for transfusion in case of overt GIB. Our study aimed to further evaluate the role of kidney function in several clinical outcomes of GIB patients.

The construction of thin film heterostructures has been a widely successful archetype for fabricating materials with emergent physical properties. This strategy is of particular importance for the design of multilayer magnetic architectures in which direct interfacial spin-spin interactions between magnetic phases in dissimilar layers lead to emergent and controllable magnetic behavior. However, crystallographic incommensurability and atomic-scale interfacial disorder can severely limit the types of materials amenable to this strategy, as well as the performance of these systems.

Traumatic brain injuries present significant diagnostic challenges in emergency medicine, where the timely interpretation of medical images is crucial for patient outcomes. In this paper, we propose a novel AI-based approach for automatic radiology report generation tailored to cranial trauma cases. Our model integrates an AC-BiFPN with a Transformer architecture to capture and process complex medical imaging data such as CT and MRI scans.
