A new ternary compound NaCu6Se4 was synthesized from the reaction of Cu in a molten sodium polyselenide flux. The compound crystallizes in trigonal space group R3̅m with a = 4.0465(3) Å and c = 41.493(5) Å. The crystal structure contains flat two-dimensional slabs of (1)/∞[Cu6Se4] with a unique structural arrangement, separated by Na cations. The compound contains mixed valency and has a high conductivity of ∼3 × 10(3) S cm(-1) at room temperature, and exhibits increasing conductivity with decreasing temperature, indicating metallic behavior. A small positive thermopower (4-11 μV K(-1) from 300 to 500 K) and Hall effect measurements indicate p-type transport with a carrier concentration of ∼2.8(3) × 10(21) cm(-3) and a hole mobility of ∼8.75 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) at 300 K. NaCu6Se4 exhibits temperature-independent Pauli paramagnetism.

In the current investigation, the efficiency inhibition of two newly synthesized bi-pyrazole derivatives, namely 2,3-bis[(bis((1 H-pyrazol-1-yl) methyl) amino)] pyridine (Tetra-Pz-Ortho) and 1,4-bis[(bis((1 H-pyrazol-1-yl) methyl) amino)] benzene (Tetra-Pz-Para) for corrosion of carbon steel (C&S) in 1 M HCl medium was evaluated. A Comparative study of inhibitor effect of Tetra-Pz-Ortho and Tetra-Pz-Para was conducted first using weight loss method and EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) and PDP (Potentiodynamic Polarisation) techniques. Tetra-Pz-Ortho and Tetra-Pz-Para had a maximum inhibition efficacy of 97.

Polymer photo-oxidation aging is a significant issue in plastics engineering, leading to reduced performance, shorter lifespan, and additional pollution. Anti-aging agents, including antioxidants and ultraviolet (UV)-shielding agents, are used to ameliorate the above problems. However, multi-component agents involve complex synthesis, mixed processing, and environmental concerns.

Sages and their beneficial secondary metabolites have been used in conventional and traditional medicine in many countries, and are extensively studied for their health effects. However, to achieve high production levels, it is crucial to optimize the cultivation conditions. The aim of our study was to determine the optimal light-emitting diode (LED) treatment strategy for promoting plant growth and polyphenol biosynthesis in S.

Minimal study focused on the association between mixed pollutants in atmospheric particulate matter (PM) and their reproductive health risks. Utilizing a novel quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) integrated machine learning algorithms, we evaluated the mixed reproductive health risks associated with phthalates (PAEs) and organophosphates (OPEs) exposure by assessing the affinities of these compounds binding to estrogen receptors (ER) and androgen receptors (AR). The mixed toxicity equivalent factor (TEF) and mixed toxicity equivalent quantity (TEQ) by the QSAR model were all smaller than the sum TEF and TEQ of individual PAEs and OPEs, which may be due to the antagonistic effect of PAEs and OPEs monomers on reproductive toxicity.

Experiments were conducted in controlled laboratory conditions to determine the size-resolved CCN (Cloud Condensation Nuclei) activity of sub micrometer-sized aerosols containing nuclear fission products (CsI and CsOH) and abundant ambient inorganic aerosols ammonium sulphates ((NH)SO), ammonium chloride (NHCl), sodium nitrate (NaNO), and sodium chloride (NaCl). The presence of these atmospheric-relevant compounds internally mixed with fission product compounds has the potential to affect the capacity of ambient particulates of aerosols to absorb water and function as CCN. Once in the atmosphere, the dynamics of airborne radionuclides and subsequently their fate gets affected by dry and wet deposition processes.
