Campbell, Shea, and Albert propose an adaptation of the Barabási-Albert model of network formation that permits a level of tuning of the control profiles of these networks. We point out some limitations and generalizations of this method as well as highlight opportunities for future work to refine formation mechanisms to provide control profile tuning in synthetic networks.

Objective: Epilepsy is a common neurological disease affecting nearly 1% of the global population, and temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is the most common type. Patients experience recurrent seizures and chronic cognitive deficits that can impact their quality of life, ability to work, and independence. These cognitive deficits often extend beyond the temporal lobe and are not well understood.

Purpose: To explore strategies related to cancer-related financial toxicity (FT) from the perspectives of cancer survivors and stakeholders in China and to evaluate their views within the context of the social ecological model (SEM).
Methods: Between March and July 2022, we conducted a descriptive qualitative study with semistructured interviews of 23 cancer survivors and 14 stakeholders. Qualitative content analysis on the basis of the SEM was used to analyze the data with NVivo 12.

There is different administration routes of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) administration for macular edema, but the efficacy ranking remains unclear. The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of different administration routes of TA employed in macular edema. PubMed, Medline, Embase, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were systematically searched for published articles comparing macular edema in patients with triamcinolone acetonide in different administration.

A methodology is proposed, which addresses the caveat that line-of-sight emission spectroscopy presents in that it cannot provide spatially resolved temperature measurements in non-homogeneous temperature fields. The aim of this research is to explore the use of data-driven models in measuring temperature distributions in a spatially resolved manner using emission spectroscopy data. Two categories of data-driven methods are analyzed: (i) Feature engineering and classical machine learning algorithms, and (ii) end-to-end convolutional neural networks (CNN).

Background: Accurate assessment of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk is crucial for effective prevention and resource allocation. However, few CVD risk estimation tools consider social determinants of health (SDoH), despite their known impact on CVD risk. We aimed to estimate 10-year CVD risk in the Eastern Caribbean Health Outcomes Research Network Cohort Study (ECS) across multiple risk estimation instruments and assess the association between SDoH and CVD risk.
