[Assessment of the physical development of children using the centile method].

In the course of a long-term socio-hygienic study characteristics of the physical development of the population in the city of Astrakhan were determined. All the methods used in the study were examined in succession. The objective advantages of the physical development standards estimated by centile method over standards estimated according to the scale of regression were substantiated. Examples could be found in centile assessment tables. An explanation is given of the possible assessments of physical development.
