Lonicera caerulea genome reveals molecular mechanisms of freezing tolerance and anthocyanin biosynthesis.

J Adv Res

December 2024

Key Laboratory of Saline-alkali Vegetation Ecology Restoration (Northeast Forestry University), Ministry of Education, Harbin 150040, China; College of Life Science, Northeast Forestry University, Harbin 150040, China. Electronic address:

Introduction: Lonicera caerulea L. (blue honeysuckle) is a noteworthy fleshy-fruited tree and a prominent medicinal plant, which possesses notable characteristics such as exceptional resilience to winter conditions and early maturation, and the richest source of functional anthocyanins, particularly cyanidin-3-glucoside. The molecular mechanisms responsible for its freezing tolerance and anthocyanin biosynthesis remain largely unknown.

As consumers increasingly prioritize food safety and nutritional value, the dairy industry faces a pressing need for rapid and accurate methods to detect essential nutritional components in milk, such as fat, protein, and lactose. Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) technology, known for its non-destructive, fast, and precise nature, shows great promise in food quality assessment. However, the high dimensionality of HSI data poses challenges for effective band selection and model optimization.

Medicinal plants serve as vital resources for preventing and treating diseases, with their flowers, fruits, leaves, roots, or entire plants being utilized in the pharmaceutical industry or as direct therapeutic agents. During our investigation of microfungi associated with medicinal plants in Guizhou and Sichuan Provinces, China, several asexual and sexual fungal morphs were collected. Multi-locus phylogenetic analysis based on combined ITS, LSU, SSU and datasets revealed that these taxa are related to the family Dictyosporiaceae.

Synthesis, anti-oomycete and anti-fungal activities of novel paeonol ester derivatives containing a schiff base.

Nat Prod Res

December 2024

Laboratory of Pesticidal Design & Synthesis, Department of Plant Protection, College of Horticultrue and Plant Protection, Henan University of Science and Technology, Luoyang, China.

To discover biorational natural product-based pesticides, a series of paeonol ester derivatives containing a Schiff base (, , , and ) were prepared, and their structures were well characterised by H NMR and HRMS. Furthermore, bioactivities of these compounds as anti-oomycete and anti-fungal agents against two serious agricultural diseases, and we assessed. Amongst evaluated compounds, 1) Compounds and displayed good anti-oomycete against , with EC values of 116.
