The optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dosimeter is a useful detector for measuring absorbed doses of X-rays. A small-type OSL dosimeter, "nanoDot", has recently been developed by Landauer, Inc., who also manufacture "microStar" reading equipment. However, additional annealing equipment is needed if the nanoDot OSL dosimeter is used repeatedly. The aim of this study was to fabricate suitable annealing equipment using commonly available products. Our device positions four fluorescent light tubes in a close configuration. The heat from the fluorescent light tubes is dissipated using fans. Experiments using diagnostic X-ray equipment were carried out to evaluate the capability of our annealing equipment. The results indicated that our equipment can fully anneal the nanoDot OSL dosimeter with annealing times of approximately 20 hours.

Surface roughening (SR) has been found to occur in solid solution 2219 aluminum alloy under tensile deformation, which will deteriorate its surface quality. To make a precise study of the surface roughening (SR) behavior and mechanism, the surface morphology of annealed and solid solution 2219 aluminum alloy was compared and crystal plasticity finite element (CPFE) simulation was carried out in this study. Thereinto, representative volume element (RVE) models of polycrystals were established according to the initial grain morphology measured by electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD).

To achieve a near-zero magnetic field environment, the use of permalloy sheets with high-performance magnetic properties is essential. However, mainstream welding processes for magnetically shielded rooms (MSRs), such as argon arc welding and laser welding, can degrade the magnetic properties of the material. Additionally, neglecting the anisotropy of permalloy sheets can introduce unpredictable errors in the evaluation of MSR performance.

This paper presents the results of a study on the characteristics of semiconductor sensors based on thin SnO films modified with antimony, dysprosium, and silver impurities and dispersed double Pt/Pd catalysts deposited on the surface to detect carbon monoxide (CO). An original technology was developed, and ceramic targets were made from powders of Sn-Sb-O, Sn-Sb-Dy-O, and Sn-Sb-Dy-Ag-O systems synthesized by the sol-gel method. Films of complex composition were obtained by RF magnetron sputtering of the corresponding targets, followed by technological annealing at various temperatures.

Despite its limitations, restriction enzyme (RE)-mediated cleavage remains the prevalent method for generating sticky ends in DNA assembly. Here, we present RNase HII Fusion (RH2Fusion), a robust system for user-defined sticky ends, enabling scarless assembly of multiple DNA fragments alongside simultaneous site-directed mutagenesis (SDM) at multiple sites. In bacterial cells, DNA fragments with ribonucleotide modifications are expected to form complementary 3' overhangs after RNase HII treatment, followed by annealing and recombination via the bacterial self-repair system.

As one of the key components of supercapacitors (SCs), separators can directly affect the energy density, output power, and safety stability of SCs. However, it is still a challenge to prepare separators that simultaneously combine large pore size, ultrathin thickness, and excellent mechanical properties. Herein, a 5 μm ultrathin separator with a three-dimensional (3D) porous nanofiber skeleton dotted by fumed AlO nanoparticles has been developed using biaxial stretching.
