We present a robust two dimensional coordination polymer, [Ni2(L)2(N(CN)2)2]n (1) (LH = 2-((1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylimino)methyl)phenol; N(CN)2(-) = dicyanamide ion) using a chiral Schiff base (LH), which shows diastereoselectivity in the structure via a chiral self-discrimination process, ferro- and antiferromagnetic interactions among the metal centers and unusual CO2 uptake behavior as a porous framework.

We present first-principles results on the electronic and magnetic properties of the cubic bulk β-phase of Fe2O3. Given that all Fe-Fe magnetic couplings are expected to be antiferromagnetic within this high-symmetry crystal structure, the system may exhibit some signature of magnetic frustration, making it challenging to identify its magnetic ground state. We have analyzed the possible magnetic phases of the β-phase, among which there are ferrimagnets, altermagnets, and Kramers antiferromagnets.

In this work, we present a generalized implementation of the previously developed restricted open-shell configuration interaction singles (ROCIS) family of methods. The new method allows us to treat high-spin (HS) ferro- as well as antiferromagnetically (AF) coupled systems while retaining the total spin as a good quantum number. To achieve this important and nontrivial goal, we employ the machinery of the iterative configuration expansion (ICE) method, which is able to tackle general configuration interaction (CI) problems on the basis of spin-adapted configuration state functions (CSFs).

A high-nuclearity {Ni} complex (1) with a unique 'flying saucer' motif has been prepared from the organic chelate, α-methyl-2-pyridine-methanol (mpmH), in conjunction with bridging azido (N ) and peroxido (O ) ligands. Magnetic susceptibility measurements revealed the presence of both ferro- and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between the metal centres in 1, and the stabilization of spin states with appreciable S values at two different temperature regimes. The end-on bridging azido and alkoxido groups are in all likelihood the ferromagnetic mediators, while the η:η:μ-bridging peroxides most likely promote the antiparallel alignment of the metals' spin vectors, yielding an overall non-zero spin ground state for the centrosymmetric compound 1.

We discover an intrinsic dipole Hall effect in a variety of magnetic insulating states at integer fillings of twisted MoTe moiré superlattice, including topologically trivial and nontrivial ferro-, antiferro-, and ferri-magnetic configurations. The dipole Hall current, in linear response to in-plane electric field, generates an in-plane orbital magnetization M along the field, through which an AC field can drive magnetization oscillation up to THz range. Upon the continuous topological phase transitions from trivial to quantum anomalous Hall states in both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic configurations, the dipole Hall current and M have an abrupt sign change, enabling contact-free detection of the transitions through the magnetic stray field.

Intrinsic exchange bias is known as the unidirectional exchange anisotropy that emerges in a nominally single-component ferro-(ferri-)magnetic system. In this work, with magnetic and structural characterizations, we demonstrate that intrinsic exchange bias is a general phenomenon in (Ni, Co, Fe)-based spinel oxide films deposited onα-AlO(0001) substrates, due to the emergence of a rock-salt interfacial layer consisting of antiferromagnetic CoO from interfacial reconstruction. We show that in NiCoFeO(111)/α-AlO(0001) films, intrinsic exchange bias and interfacial reconstruction have consistent dependences on Co concentration, while the Ni and Fe concentration appears to be less important.
