Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DbCM), a significant chronic complication of diabetes, manifests as myocardial hypertrophy, fibrosis, and other pathological alterations that substantially impact cardiac function and elevate the risk of cardiovascular diseases and patient mortality. Myocardial energy metabolism disturbances in DbCM, encompassing glucose, fatty acid, ketone body and lactate metabolism, are crucial factors that contribute to the progression of DbCM. In recent years, novel protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) such as lactylation, β-hydroxybutyrylation, and succinylation have been demonstrated to be intimately associated with the myocardial energy metabolism process, and in conjunction with acetylation, they participate in the regulation of protein activity and gene expression activity in cardiomyocytes.

Background: Streptococcus mutans is recognized as a key pathogen responsible for the development of dental caries. With the advancement of research on dental caries, the understanding of its pathogenic mechanism has gradually shifted from the theory of a single pathogenic bacterium to the theory of oral microecological imbalance. Acidogenic and aciduric microbial species are also recognized to participate in the initiation and progression of dental caries.

Background: Iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS) impedes venous blood return from the lower extremities due to iliac vein compression, manifesting as leg swelling, varicose veins, and thrombosis. These symptoms significantly degrade quality of life. Although iliac vein stenting provides symptomatic relief, the recovery process is protracted and fraught with challenges such as in-stent restenosis and psychological distress.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is an aggressive cancer that is notably associated with a high risk of lymph node metastasis, a major cause of cancer mortality. Current therapeutic options remain limited to surgery supplemented by radio- or chemotherapy; however, these interventions often result in high-grade toxicities. Distant metastasis significantly contributed to the poor prognosis and decreased survival rates.
