Materials And Methods: We studied 90 patients with radicular acute pain syndrome of lumbosacral localizations in the Petrovsky Russian Research Center of Surgery from 2009 to 2013. The patients were divided into two groups. We assessed an effectiveness of epidural blockades in complex therapy.
Conclusion: The treatment of radicular pain syndrome with intensity over 5 points according to visual analog scale should be started with epidural blockade with local anesthetics and small doses of steroids.

Objective: To describe the presentation, outcomes, and management strategies for cases of subcapsular liver hematoma associated with preeclampsia, eclampsia, or HELLP (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelet count) syndrome.
Methods: This was a case series of individuals with subcapsular liver hematoma managed at a single level IV center over a 10-year period, from 2013 to 2024. Presenting signs and symptoms, laboratory findings, time of onset, management strategies, acute perinatal and maternal outcomes, and long-term outcomes such as subsequent pregnancies were reviewed in the medical record and recorded.

Purpose: To compare overall survival (OS), toxicity, and quality of life (QOL) in patients with metastatic gallbladder cancer receiving oral capecitabine (X) with best supportive care (BSC) and BSC alone.
Materials And Methods: Patients with metastatic gallbladder cancer and Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) ≥70 were accrued and assigned to either arm A or B. Assignment to these two arms was based on physician/patient discretion.

Premenstrual symptoms are distressing and impairing for individuals and costly to society. These symptoms are heterogeneous within and across people, dimensional, and dynamic. We report the case of a 24-year-old man from Brazil presenting with jaundice and epigastric pain. Abdominal CT and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) revealed a mass in the pancreatic-duodenal groove, intrahepatic duct dilation, and lymphadenopathy, initially suggestive of lymphoproliferative syndrome. However, cytopathological analysis of EUS-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) of the lymph nodes confirmed paracoccidioidomycosis.

Background: The High-STEACS (High-Sensitivity Troponin in the Evaluation of Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome) pathway risk stratifies emergency department patients with possible acute coronary syndrome. This study aims to determine if the High-STEACS hs-cTnT (high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T) pathway can achieve the ≥99% negative predictive value (NPV) safety threshold for 30-day cardiac death or myocardial infarction (CDMI) in a multisite US cohort of patients with and without known coronary artery disease (CAD).
Methods: A secondary analysis of the STOP-CP (High-Sensitivity Cardiac Troponin T [Gen 5 STAT Assay] to Optimize Chest Pain Risk Stratification) cohort, which enrolled adult emergency department patients with possible acute coronary syndrome at 8 US sites (January 25, 2017-September 6, 2018).
