Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and health improvements from a Zumba® intervention in overweight/obese women.
Methods: Twenty-eight (14 type 2 diabetic and 14 non-diabetic) over-weight/obese women (BMI: 37.3±1.5 kg/m(2)) 50.8±1.8 y of age, completed a 16-week intervention attending Zumba® dance classes 3 days/week, 60 minutes/class. We measured aerobic fitness, body weight, body fat %, and motivation to exercise before and after the study.
Results: Intrinsic motivation to exercise (p < .05) and aerobic fitness (1.01 ± 0.40 mL/kg/min, p < .05) improved, and the participants lost body weight (-1.05 ± 0.55kg, p < .05) and body fat% (-1.2 ± 0.6%, p < .01).
Conclusion: The Zumba® intervention improved health and physical fitness in women.

In recent decades, immunotherapy with chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) has revolutionized cancer treatment and given hope where other cancer therapies have failed. CAR-NK cells are NK cells that have been engineered ex vivo with a CAR on the cell membrane with high specificity for specific target antigens of tumor cells. The impressive results of several studies suggest that CAR-NK cell therapy has significant potential and successful performance in cancer treatment.

How to utilize modern technological means to provide both accurate scoring and objective feedback for martial arts movements has become an issue that needs to be addressed in the field of physical education. This study proposes an intelligent scoring method based on machine learning. Firstly, the key features are extracted by the feature alignment technique, which eliminates the influence of athletes' movement speed, rhythm and duration on the scoring, thus reflecting the athletes' skill level more realistically.

Among the diverse sexual signals used by birds, the possible signaling functions of non-bodily objects during mating/courting displays remain unexplained. It is unclear whether such object-holding gestures are purely ritualistic or serve as an advertisement of an extended phenotype to potential mates. Estrildid finches (family Estrildidae) are characterized by mutual courtship, during which either a male or female will hold nesting material (usually grass stems or straw) in the beak while singing and dancing toward the opposite sex.

Background: Although a lot of attention is paid to the flaws of balance training research in older adults, the low methodological quality and incomplete reporting of studies still limit the knowledge transfer between research and practice. These known shortcomings are considered also as barriers for creating recommendations for balance training in older adults. Despite the considerable efforts to improve the scientific quality of studies, such recommendations have not yet been formulated to date.
