Background: Veterinarians represent a population at risk for burnout. The influence of self-compassion on the development and consequences of burnout remains poorly understood.

Methods: A validated 30-item survey was disseminated to registered members of the College of Veterinarians of Las Palmas (Spain) via Google Survey between October and December 2023 to assess levels of burnout (Maslach Burnout Inventory-general survey) and self-compassion (self-compassion scale) and explore the prevalence of anxiety, depression and benzodiazepine use.

A very small proportion of all chemicals in commerce have (OELs) based on quantitative risk assessments which require estimates of exposure-response relationships (XRs). For only 18 of the 94 chemicals declared by NIOSH to be carcinogens were human XRs reported in or calculable from published reports. For the 18 carcinogens, 96 such XRs could be derived (corresponding to chemicals with multiple associated cancer end-points and/or multiple source studies).

Medical personnel represent the largest group of workers occupationally exposed to ionizing radiation. Although the health risks associated with occupational exposure to low doses of ionizing radiation in the medical field have been investigated in several national cohorts, no study has been conducted in France to date. The ORICAMs (Occupational Radiation Induced Cancer in Medical staff) cohort is a nationwide French longitudinal cohort of medical workers exposed to ionizing radiation aiming to investigate the risk of radiation-associated cancer and non-cancer mortality.

The objective of this review was to scope the current evidence base related to three exposure assessment concepts: frequency, intensity, and duration (latency) for cleaning and disinfection exposures in healthcare and subsequent work-related asthma risks. A search strategy was developed addressing intersections of four main concepts: (1) work-related asthma; (2) occupation (healthcare workers/nurses); (3) cleaning and disinfection; and (4) exposure. Three databases were searched: Embase, PubMed, and the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) database.

Purpose: Occupational exposure to bioaerosols during waste handling remains a health concern for exposed workers. However, exposure-related health effects and underlying immunological mechanisms are still poorly described.

Methods: The present study assessed the inflammatory potential of work-air samples (n = 56) in vitro and investigated biomarker expression in exposed workers (n = 69) compared to unexposed controls (n = 25).
