Recent neuroimaging and electrophysiological studies have suggested substantial short-term plasticity in the topographic maps of the primary motor cortex (M1). However, previous methods lack the temporal resolution to detect rapid modulation of these maps, particularly in naturalistic conditions. To address this limitation, we previously developed a rapid stimulation mapping procedure with implanted cortical surface electrodes.

Purpose: Limitations of standard-length femoral stems persist, including proximal-distal mismatch, non-ideal load transfer, loss of bone tissue, and perioperative fracture. Symbol® (Dedienne Santé, France) is a metaphyseal-engaging short-stem implant designed to address these issues in total hip arthroplasty (THA). While short stems have been well studied in selected and younger patients, it is unclear whether they offer advantages in an unselected population.

This paper introduces a new iBCI communication prosthesis using a 3D keyboard interface for typing using continuous, closed loop movement of multiple fingers. A participant-specific BCI keyboard prototype was developed for a BrainGate2 clinical trial participant (T5) using neural recordings from the hand-knob area of the left premotor cortex.

Purpose: This study investigates the relationship between pre-linguistic social communication skills and age of cochlear implant for future language outcomes in a large sample of deaf children.
Method: A retrospective cohort study of records from 75 children. Pre-implant data included Age at Implant, pre-linguistic communication (social, symbolic and speech) skills, and non-verbal ability.

The paper describes the design, implementation, and characterization of a novel multilevel synchronized pulse position modulation paradigm for high efficiency optical biotelemetry links. The entire optoelectronic architecture has been designed with the aim to improve the efficiency of the data transmission and decrease the overall power consumption that are key factors for the fabrication of implantable and wearable medical devices. By employing specially designed digital architectures, the proposed modulation technique automatically transmits more than one bit per symbol together with the reference clock signal enabling the decoding process of the received coded data.
