A novel three-dimensional coordination polymer, {[Pb(C14H8N2O4)(H2O)]·0.5C12H10N2}n, has been synthesized by hydrothermal reaction of Pb(OAc)2·3H2O (OAc is acetate), 2,2'-(diazene-1,2-diyl)dibenzoic acid (H2L) and 1,2-bis(pyridin-4-yl)ethylene (bpe). The asymmetric unit contains a crystallographically independent Pb(II) cation, one L(2-) ligand, an aqua ligand and half a bpe molecule. Each Pb(II) centre is seven-coordinated by six O atoms of bridging-chelating carboxylate groups from L(2-) ligands and by one O atom from a coordinated water molecule. The Pb(II) cations are bridged by L(2-) ligands, forming [PbO2]n chains along the a axis. These chains are further connected by L(2-) ligands along the b and c axes to give a three-dimensional framework with a 4(12)6(3) topology. The channel voids are occupied by bpe molecules.

2,8-Dithia-5-aza-2,6-pyridinophane () has been used as a receptor unit in the construction of the conjugated redox chemosensor 5-ferrocenylmethyl-2,8-dithia-5-aza-2,6-pyridinophane (). In order to further explore the coordination chemistry of , and comparatively, that of its structural analogue 2,11-dithia-5,8-diaza-2,6-pyridinophane (), featuring two secondary nitrogen atoms in the macrocyclic unit, the crystal structures of the new synthesised complexes [Pb()(ClO)]·½CHCN, [Cu()](ClO)·CHCN and [Cd()(NO)]NO were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The electrochemical response of towards the metal ions Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg, and Pb was investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in CHCl/CHCN 0.

This study examines the influence of ligand design on the structural, optical, and electrical properties of copper-based coordination complexes. Ligands HL and HL were synthesized via the reaction of 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde with 2-hydroxy- or 4-hydroxybenzhydrazide. HL was obtained from the reaction of carbohydrazide and salicylaldehyde, while HL was prepared by condensing 4-methoxysalicylaldehyde with thiocarbohydrazide.

Genetic variants in PD-1 and its ligands, gene-gene and gene-environment interactions in allergic rhinitis.

Department of Otorhinolaryngology & Clinical Allergy Center, The First Affiliated Hospital, Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing, China; International Center for Allergy Research, Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing, China. Electronic address:

Background: The etiology of allergic rhinitis (AR), in which genetic and environmental factors are closely intertwined, has not yet been completely clarified. Programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) and its ligands (PD-L1 and PD-L2) regulate the immune and inflammatory responses during the development of immune-related and atopic diseases. To clarify the associations of genetic variants in PD-1, PD-L1 and PD-L2 with susceptibility to AR, gene-gene and gene-environment interactions were investigated.

Fine-Tuning of the Sequential Self-Assembly of Entangled Polyhedra by Exploiting the Side-Chain Effect.

December 2024

Tokyo College, U-Tokyo Institutes for Advanced Study (UTIAS), The University of Tokyo, Mitsui Link Lab Kashiwanoha 1, FS CREATION, 6-6-2 Kashiwanoha, Kashiwa-shi, Chiba, 277-0882, Japan.

The control of the sequential self-assembly processes of highly entangled (AgL) (n=2,4,6,8) and AgL coordination polyhedra using side-chain effects was studied via the introduction of linear or branched side chains into the tripodal ligands. In addition to changes in the intermediate polyhedral species affording the multi- pathway process, disruption of the kinetic control of the sequential self-assembly was observed, thus demonstrating the utility of steric control for the construction of 3D-entangled molecular materials on the 5 nm scale with high molecular complexity.

The reaction between 1,3-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazolylmethyl)hexahydropyrimidine L and Mo(CO) in CHCN at 130 °C afforded a binuclear Mo(0) complex 1 containing a new macrocycle formed upon C-N bond cleavage in L in good yield. Conversely, a clean reaction takes place between L and [Mo(CO)(COD)] in THF at 60 °C to give a new metalloligand complex [Mo(CO)(κ-,-L)] 2 containing a spectator pyrazole arm in 83% yield. Their structures were determined by X-ray diffraction methods, and a plausible mechanism is proposed for the C-N bond cleavage leading to complex 1.
