Though there are common variations of the internal jugular vein (IJV), fenestrations are extremely rare. The lateral branch of the accessory nerve classically goes through the fenestration. We report a case of an empty fenestration of the IJV that was discovered during clearance of cervical lymph nodes. Original operative and radiographic images are shown.

Background: Pseudotumor cerebri (PTC) or idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is characterized by elevated intracranial pressure without hydrocephalus or mass lesion, with normal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) studies and neuroimaging. The exact cause remains uncertain, but potential mechanisms include increased CSF production, impaired CSF absorption, cerebral edema, and abnormal cerebral venous pressure gradients. Patients may present with various accompanying symptoms such as unilateral or bilateral visual obscuration, pulsatile tinnitus, back pain, dizziness, neck pain, blurred vision, cognitive difficulties, radicular pain, and typically intermittent horizontal diplopia.

Periodontitis is a ubiquitous chronic inflammatory, bacteria-triggered oral disease affecting the adult population. If left untreated, periodontitis can lead to severe tissue destruction, eventually resulting in tooth loss. Despite previous efforts in clinically managing the disease, therapeutic strategies are still lacking.

Hydrodynamic transfection (HT) or hydrodynamic tail vein injection (HTVi) is among the leading technique that is used to deliver plasmid genes mainly into the liver of live mice or rats. The DNA constructs are composed of coupled plasmids, while one contains the gene of interest that stably integrate into the hepatocyte genome with help of the other consisting sleeping beauty transposase system. The rapid injection of a large volume of DNA-solution through the tail vein induces an acute cardiac congestion that refluxed into the liver, mainly in acinus zone 3, also found through our EM study.

Genitourinary anomalies constitute a large proportion of congenital malformations. However seminal tract anomalies, particularly ejaculatory duct (ED) anomalies are very rare and little information exists on the topic. We are reporting a very rare case of bilateral ectopic EDs opening in the bladder trigone in a 33-year-old gentleman presenting for evaluation for primary infertility.

Department 11 of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Pediatric Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania.

Duplications and fenestrations of the internal jugular vein (IJV) are rare anatomic variations. There were previously found mostly unilateral fenestrated internal jugular veins, either empty, or traversed by the spinal accessory nerves. It was documented the computed tomography angiogram of a 65 year-old female patient and bilateral high fenestrations of the IJVs were found.
