Despite significant strides in linking Human Factors and Ergonomics (HFE) and sustainability, research lacks precision in debating HFE's role, especially concerning the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This paper maps concrete contributions of HFE to the SDGs, offering strategic actions for target achievement. The methodological approach involved the application of PRISMA to define a sample, SciMAT and VOSviewer for visual and temporal thematic mapping, deductive content analysis and categorical analysis.

Green jobs are to be understood as those jobs directly associated with specific sustainability issues and activities related to the efficiency, quality and innovation of goods and services offered, from an eco-sustainability perspective. The objective of the research was to fill knowledge gaps of new and emerging environmental and occupational risks related to sustainable activities and to understand the impact these might have on workers' psychological and physical well-being. A selection of several scientific articles and a critical analysis of the selected articles was carried out from the perspective of defining the concept of "emerging occupational risks in green jobs," using different keywords in the title or abstract as search criteria.

Ergonomics is evolving towards including a broader consideration of ecological and political factors in the design of work environments by adopting an interconnected systems paradigm, highlighting the importance of considering the ecological and political impacts of business. The emergence of 'green ergonomics' encourages sustainable human systems integrated in their natural environment, while respecting ethical values such as respect for human rights and diversity. On the one hand, this is leading to new areas of ergonomic research and intervention, such as energy management and corporate CSR, and on the other, to the need to develop specific skills to anticipate the future in innovative ways.

Background: The aim of this article is to attempt to answer the question of how to enhance the fulfillment of needs for senior citizens residing in riverside cities. To achieve this, an attempt was made to develop the principles of a cohesive system that enables the activation of waterfront areas located in urbanized regions, often affected by a deficit of green spaces. The concept presented in this article is based on a consistent focus on architectural and urban design solutions that provide opportunities for functional enrichment of underutilized riverside areas for recreational purposes.
