Ankylosis of teeth is the abnormal adherence of alveolar bone to dentin or cementum. Ankylosis of a submerged maxillary canine can be challenging when striving for an optimal occlusal and esthetic treatment outcome with orthognathic surgery. If an ankylosed tooth does not respond to orthodontic forces, surgical procedures may be indicated to facilitate movement of the tooth to the correct position including a single-tooth segmental osteotomy to reposition the alveolar bone including the ankylosed tooth. The objective of this case report is to describe the treatment of a patient with an ankylosed submerged maxillary right canine, with a single-tooth osteotomy performed to reposition the tooth into its correct position concomitant with double-jaw orthognathic surgery and TMJ surgery.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate bone remodeling in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) during canine distalization in obese individuals and compare it to that in normal-weight individuals. Additionally, the orthodontic tooth movement rates of obese individuals were measured and compared with those of normal-weight individuals.
Methods: Thirty-six patients (18 obese and 18 normal-weight) aged 12-18 years who were candidates for maxillary first premolar extraction for Angle Class II malocclusion were included in the study.

Background: The mechanical properties of framework materials significantly influence stress distribution and the long-term success of implant-supported prostheses. Although titanium, cobalt-chromium, zirconia, and polyether ether ketone (PEEK) are widely used, their biomechanical performance under dynamic loading conditions remains insufficiently investigated. This study aimed to evaluate the biomechanical behavior of four framework materials with different Young's modulus using dynamic finite element stress analysis.

Introduction: The complexity of treating impacted maxillary canines varies based on their angulation and position within the dental arch. The aim of this research was to compare the mesiodistal angulation of maxillary canines according to their impaction sector.
Methods: This cross-sectional study evaluated 229 impacted maxillary canines in 171 panoramic radiographs from two private radiology centres in Uruguay and Chile of individuals of both sexes aged 11 years and older with impacted maxillary canines.

This case report describes the reconstruction of a rostral maxillary defect by two custom-made titanium implants following a rostral partial maxillectomy for treatment of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in a seven-year-old dog. An incisional biopsy and CT scan were performed to establish the diagnosis, to plan possible surgery, and to assess the margins of the tumour. The patient had no radiographic signs of metastasis at the time of diagnosis.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the sequence and eruption chronology of permanent teeth in school children and adolescents of Chennai and compare the findings with an existing standard table. Additionally, the study also attempted to explore the influence of sex, body mass index (BMI), and socioeconomic status (SES) on tooth eruption patterns.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was designed, and 12,650 children aged 5-18 years were selected from thirty-five schools using a multistage random sampling method.
