The bursa of Fabricius is a primary lymphoid organ for B-cell development and gut-associated lymphoid tissue. After hatching, IgG-containing cells with reticular branches are found in the medulla of bursal follicles on frozen sections stained with anti-Cγ antibody, and IgM(+)IgG(+) B cells are detected in single-cell suspension of the bursa. IgG-containing cells in the medulla do not biosynthesize IgG and are composed of aggregated maternal IgG and environmental antigens. Then, those cells in the medulla are acknowledged as follicular dendritic cells retaining immune complexes. Also, it is presumed that IgM(+)IgG(+) B cells are generated by the attachment of immune complexes to IgM(+) bursal B cells because IgM(+)IgG(+) B cells are induced by antigen-dependent attachment of maternal IgG. Therefore, it is reasonable to suppose that immune complexes exert further B-cell differentiation in the medulla.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of IgM anti-Tick-Borne Encephalitis (anti-TBE) intrathecal synthesis in the diagnosis and prediction of the clinical course of the disease. Thirty-six patients were included in the study (patients reported symptoms such as fever, headache, fatigue, and nausea/vomiting). CRP, White Blood Cells (WBC), pleocytosis, Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) protein concentration, CSF albumin concentration, serum IgM, serum IgG, CSF IgM, CSF IgG, IgM Index, IgG Index, and IgG Index/IgM Index ratio were the parameters which were examined in the individuals.

Objectives: The research aimed to assess the proportions of Gamma delta (γδ) T cells and the expression levels of CD226, ICOS, CD40L, OX40, TIGIT, LAG-3, Tim-3, and PD-1 on γδ T cells in the peripheral blood of patients diagnosed with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS), and to evaluate the clinical significance of these findings.
Methods: Utilizing flow cytometry, we investigated the proportion of γδ T cells and the expression of CD226, ICOS, CD40L, OX40, TIGIT, LAG-3, PD-1, and Tim-3 on γδ T cells in 37 patients diagnosed with pSS and 28 healthy controls (HC). Moreover, we explored the potential associations between the proportion of γδ T cells, TIGIT + γδ T cells, PD-1 + γδ T cells, and TIGIT + PD-1 + γδ T cells with clinical symptoms and laboratory parameters.

True seronegativity is extremely rare in Lyme neuroborreliosis (LNB) with reports only in patients with hematological malignancies or under treatment with chemotherapy and B-cell depleting therapies. In these instances, diagnosing LNB can be challenging. We report the case of a 63-year-old patient with 2 independent episodes of LNB.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by dysregulated B cell activation, autoantibody production, and nephritis. B cell activating factor (BAFF) overexpression enhances autoreactive B-cell survival, driving autoimmunity. BAFF specific belimumab and CD20 specific rituximab antibodies are used for SLE therapy but are not curative, highlighting the need for alternative B cell depletion therapies.

Background: Post-COVID-19 respiratory sequelae often involve lung damage, which is called residual lung abnormalities, and potentially lead to chronic respiratory issues. The adaptive immune response, involving T-cells and B-cells, plays a critical role in pathogen control, inflammation, and tissue repair. However, the link between immune dysregulation and the development of residual lung abnormalities remains unclear.
