Alexithymia leads to an inability to recognize and identity feelings, use of language to describe the feelings and the inability to distinguish between emotions and bodily symptoms. Is treated as a stable personality trait, which along with other personality factors predispose to presence a variety of mental and physical diseases. Alexithymia is considered to be a personality trait which together with other environmental factors predispose to worsening of somatic diseases and may contribute to the emergence of mental disorders. The direction of this dependence is not exactly known for heterogeneity alexythymia etiology, and therefore requires further studies.

Most studies on dogs' olfactory performance focused only on some individuals pre-trained for a task or on specially selected/trained detection dogs. Here, using the Natural Detection Task (NDT) that does not require training, we assessed the effect of several potential factors on the performance of a large sample of dogs (N = 527/tested, 484/analysed). Olfactory success was associated with breeds, but breed groups (selected for olfaction, cooperation, or both) were proven non-relevant, suggesting that breed-specific traits are more influential than functional breed group characteristics.

On average men are taller and more muscular than women, which confers on them advantages related to female choice and during physical competition with other men. Sexual size dimorphisms such as these come with vulnerabilities due to higher maintenance and developmental costs for the sex with the larger trait. These costs are in keeping with evolutionary theory that posits large, elaborate, sexually selected traits are signals of health and vitality because stressor exposure (e.

Brain imaging genetics aims to explore the association between genetic factors such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and brain imaging quantitative traits (QTs). However, most existing methods do not consider the nonlinear correlations between genotypic and phenotypic data, as well as potential higher-order relationships among subjects when identifying bi-multivariate associations. In this paper, a novel method called deep hyper-Laplacian regularized self-representation learning based structured association analysis (DHRSAA) is proposed which can learn genotype-phenotype associations and obtain relevant biomarkers.
