Purpose: This study seeks to investigate the in vivo corneal biomechanical response to femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (FS-LASIK) combined with accelerated corneal crosslinking (LASIK-Xtra) compared to conventional FS-LASIK (convLASIK) in highly myopic eyes.
Setting: Department of Ophthalmology, Goethe-University, Frankfurt, Germany.
Design: A prospective, randomized fellow eye-controlled clinical trial.

The endoscopic control system has remained similar in design for many decades The remit of advanced therapeutic endoscopy continues to expand requiring precision control and high cognitive workloads. Robotic systems are emerging, but all still require bimanual control and expensive and large new systems. Eye tracking is an exciting area that can be used as an endoscope control system.

To evaluate the effect of mean ocular perfusion pressure on the foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area in eyes with successful retinal detachment (RD) surgery. This prospective pilot fellow eye-controlled study measured the intraoperative mean ocular perfusion pressure in eyes having surgery for rhegmatogenous RD (RRD). Postoperatively, the FAZ area was measured; the change was calculated as the difference in the FAZ area between the operated eye and the contralateral control eye.

Significance: This study found that the unique properties of tear film breakup process in eyes with pterygium, combined with ocular surface parameters, further revealed specific dynamic mechanism. It suggested that the thickness of pterygium was especially valuable in deciding the necessity of surgical management.
Purpose: This study aimed to explore the dynamic mechanism of tear film instability in eyes with pterygium.
