Brucellosis is an infectious disease with high incidence in Iran. Neurobrucellosis is a focal complication of brucellosis affecting both central and peripheral nervous system presenting with a varieties of signs and symptoms. The most reported manifestations are meningitis and meningoencephalitis. In this report, we will describe a case of a young woman affected by neurobrucellosis presenting with chronic progressive headache and papilledema.

The potent pro-inflammatory cytokine, interferon gamma (IFN-γ), is an enticing therapeutic target because of its accelerator role in several acute and chronic inflammatory processes. In this work, poloxamer 407 is developed as an in-situ gelling polymer for a long-acting formulation to deliver a serine protease, C5a peptidase (ScpA) from Streptococcus pyogenes. ScpA is well known for its activity against the complement factor C5a but has also recently been shown to cleave IFN-γ in vitro into inactive fragments.

Background: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical outcomes of patients undergoing a simpler (hemiarch) vs complex (zone 2 arch) aortic repair for acute type A aortic dissection (TAAD).
Methods: Adults (≥18 years) who underwent hemiarch or zone 2 arch repair for acute, hyperacute, or acute on chronic TAAD at a single institution between January 2018 and April 2024 were reviewed. Disabling stroke was defined as modified Rankin scale ≥4.
