This is the first study to demonstrate the existence of a relationship between patient pretreatment object relations functioning as measured by the Mutuality of Autonomy (MOA) Scale and patient-rated therapeutic alliance. Specifically, MOA scores were related to a patient-rated alliance Bond score (lower, more adaptive object-relations representations were associated with a stronger alliance). In addition, higher MOA scores indicating more malevolent object relations were related to a greater use of psychodynamic techniques. Specific psychodynamic techniques focused on the patient's relationships with the therapist as well as cyclical patterns in actions, feelings, and experiences. Implications for clinical practice and future research are discussed.

Aberrant differentiation of keratinocytes is closely associated with both pathological skin disorders and non-pathological skin conditions, making the maintenance of normal differentiation process essential for skin integrity and homeostasis. This study investigated the effect of olive-derived secoiridoid oleacein (OC) on keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation in vitro and further validated it in a co-culture model with fibroblasts mimicking a skin-like environment. OC was compared with oleuropein (OP) as a reference compound having similar chemical structure and reported effects on skin barrier formation and wound healing.

Background: The molecular underpinnings of organ dysfunction in severe COVID-19 and its potential long-term sequelae are under intense investigation. To shed light on these in the context of liver function, we perform single-nucleus RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomic profiling of livers from 17 COVID-19 decedents.
Results: We identify hepatocytes positive for SARS-CoV-2 RNA with an expression phenotype resembling infected lung epithelial cells, and a central role in a pro-fibrotic TGFβ signaling cell-cell communications network.

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is mostly caused by stenotic atherosclerotic lesions of lower limb arteries. Intermittent claudication is the most common manifestation, while, in more advanced stages of the disease, chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) occurs. Optimal medical therapy is an essential cornerstone in all stages of PAD, while endovascular and open surgical revascularisation are of great importance - depending on the patient and lesion characteristics and can be used in a complementary manner.

This review aimed to map available evidence of the relationship between PCC and outcomes across the SUD treatment continuum.
Methods: We conducted a scoping review of the literature on the relationship between PCC for SUD and service outcomes in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines.
