Autonomous technologies have revolutionized transportation, military operations, and space exploration, necessitating precise localization in environments where traditional GPS-based systems are unreliable or unavailable. While widespread for outdoor localization, GPS systems face limitations in obstructed environments such as dense urban areas, forests, and indoor spaces. Moreover, GPS reliance introduces vulnerabilities to signal disruptions, which can lead to significant operational failures.

Senior police officers' tactical gaze control and visual attention improve with an individual video-based police firearms training. To validate the efficacy of said intervention training, a previous experiment was systematically replicated with a sample of = 52 second-year police cadets. Participants were randomly assigned to the intervention training that focused on situational awareness, tactical gaze control, and visual attention, or an active control training that addressed traditional marksmanship skills.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) aim to automate transportation fully. A key part of this automation includes tasks such as traffic light detection and automatic braking. While indoor experiments are prevalent due to computational demands and safety concerns, there is a pressing need for research and development of new features to achieve complete automation, addressing real-world implementation challenges by testing them in outdoor environments.

Impacts of environmental parameters on sick building syndrome prevalence among residents: a walk-through survey in Rasht, Iran.

Arch Public Health

December 2024

Department of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Natural Resources, University of Guilan, Someh Sara, Guilan, Iran.

Background: This study evaluated the prevalence of sick building syndrome (SBS) in Rasht, Iran, a subtropical climate with wetter cold season city, during the autumn and winter months of 2020, focusing on the effects of noise and ventilation.

Methods: A total of 420 residents completed the indoor air climate questionnaire (MM040EA), and a walk-through survey of 45 randomly selected residential units assessed environmental noise, ventilation rate, and luminous conditions.

Results: Approximately 38.

The periodic changes in climatic factors cause the pavement temperature field to change significantly, resulting in fatigue damage to the pavement caused by temperature stress, and the influence depth has a critical value. To reveal the influence range and variation pattern of the rubber-modified pavement temperature field under frequent rainfall and high temperatures, based on indoor tests and the finite element model, the evolution law of different influencing factors and pavement temperature fields was determined by a single factor sensitivity analysis method. The degree of influence of each influencing factor on the pavement temperature field was analyzed using the Pearson correlation.
