A blue (ca. 440 nm) liquid laser with an ultra-low threshold through which quasi-continuous wave pumping is accessible is achieved by engineering unconventional ternary CdZnS/ZnS alloyed-core/shell QDs. Such an achievement is enabled by exploiting the novel gain media with minimal defects, suppressed Auger recombination, and large gain cross-section in combination with high-quality-factor whispering gallery mode resonators.

Stretchable Blue Phase Liquid Crystal Lasers with Optical Stability Based on Small-Strain Nonlinear 3D Asymmetric Deformation.

Adv Mater

January 2025

CAS Key Laboratory of Bio-inspired Materials and Interfacial Science, Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, 100190, China.

Blue phase liquid crystal (BPLC) lasers exhibit exceptional optical quality and tunability to external stimuli, holding significant promise for innovative developments in the field of flexible optoelectronics. However, there remain challenges for BPLC elastomer (BPLCE) lasers in maintaining good optical stability during stretching and varying temperature conditions. In this work, a stretchable laser is developed based on a well-designed BPLCE with a combination of partially and fully crosslinked networks, which can output a single-peak laser under small deformation (44.

Background/objectives: Janus kinase inhibitors open new horizons for small-molecule drugs in treating inflammatory bowel disease, with ritlecitinib demonstrating significant efficacy in clinical trials for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Ritlecitinib, a second-generation JAK3 inhibitor, is a novel therapeutic agent for alopecia areata and other autoimmune conditions.

Methods: A new stability-indicating UHPLC-DAD-MS/MS method was developed, validated, and applied for a forced degradation study of ritlecitinib under ICH guidelines.

: Ulcerative colitis (UC), a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), is characterized by colorectal immune infiltration and significant microbiota compositional changes. Gut microbiota homeostasis is necessary to maintain the healthy state of humans. MR2938, a quinazolin-4(3H)-one derivative derived from the marine natural product penipanoid C, alleviated DSS-induced colitis in a dose-dependent manner.

A Comparative Kinetic and Thermodynamic Adsorption Study of Methylene Blue and Its Analogue Dye on Filter Paper.

Int J Mol Sci

January 2025

Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Technical and Human Sciences, Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania, Calea Sighișoarei 2, 540485 Târgu-Mureş, Romania.

A comparative adsorption study was carried out for methylene blue (MB) and its 3,7-bis(N,N-(2-hydroxyethyl)amino)-phenothiazinium dye analog (MBI). Batch experiments employed aqueous solutions and commercial filter paper. Out of seven kinetic models tested by means of four quality statistical indicators, the pseudo-second-order, the double-exponential, and the bi-linear Weber-Morris equations were best fits.

An efficient, green, and novel basic deep eutectic solvent (DES)-assisted mechanochemical extraction method, combined with ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry, is proposed for simultaneous extraction and determination of target compounds from functional food. Several parameters are investigated using single-factor optimization, and response surface methodology is employed to determine the optimum extraction conditions. The conditions include a grinding time of 316.
