A web site, , was developed to educate and inform parents and their adolescent daughters about human papillomavirus (HPV) and HPV vaccines. This article provides an overview of web site development and content followed by the results of a beta-test of the web site. 63 New Mexican parents of adolescent girls tested the site. Results indicated that was a functioning and appealing web site. During this brief educational intervention, findings suggest that the web site has the potential to increase HPV vaccine uptake. This research supports the Internet as a valuable channel to disseminate health education and information to diverse populations.

Riparian spiders are used in ecotoxicology as sentinels of bioavailable contaminants that are transferred from aquatic to terrestrial habitats via emergent aquatic insects. Spiders in the family Tetragnathidae are particularly of interest because a high proportion of their diet consists of emergent aquatic insects and their contaminant loads reflect the amount transferred through the food web to riparian predators. The transfer of contaminants can be determined through food web tracers such as stable isotopes and polyunsaturated fatty acids; however, it is unclear how contaminants and tracers vary over the course of a year.

Coralyne (COR) is a protoberberine-like isoquinoline alkaloid, and it is known for double-stranded (ds) DNA intercalation and topoisomerase inhibition. It can also sensitize cancer cells through various mechanisms. COR reduces the proliferation and migration of breast cancer cells by inhibiting the expression and activity of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9).

Background And Aims: Melanoma now presents an average risk of 1 in 50 in the Western world. Talimogene laherparepvec (T-VEC), an FDAapproved oncolytic virus derived from Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 (HSV-1), has proven effective in reducing morbidity and mortality from melanoma but causes adverse effects like chills, fever, exhaustion, and injection site discomfort. Research focuses on combining T-VEC with immune checkpoint inhibitors, such as pembrolizumab, to enhance its efficacy and broaden its application.

Whether primary lesion surgery improves survival in patients with de novo metastatic breast cancer (dnMBC) is inconclusive. We aimed to establish a prognostic prediction model for patients with de novo metastatic breast invasive ductal carcinoma (dnMBIDC) based on machine learning algorithms and to investigate the value of primary site surgery. The data used in our study were obtained from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (SEER, 2010-2021) and the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University (1st-NCUH, June 2013-June 2023).
