Unusual presentation of an intraosseous hemangioma of the maxilla and displaced canine.

Published: May 2013

Intraosseous hemangiomas are benign vascular malformations which are extremely rare in the maxilla, but have been reported in the mandible, zygoma and orbital region. A 12 years old female presented to the oral and maxillofacial department with an ectopically positioned upper left canine in her zygomatic bone and buccal alveolar expansion between the upper left lateral incisor and upper left first premolar. This case shows the unusual presentation of an intraosseous hemangioma associated with an ectopically migrated upper left canine tooth. It is possible that this lesion caused migration of the tooth. The clinician should be aware of the possibility of this lesion for bony expansile lesions and the importance of radiographic examination in patients who present with delayed eruption of canine teeth. High-velocity traumatic amputations of the proximal upper extremity are devastating to the patient and represent an extreme surgical challenge to the treatment team. The hand surgeon must simultaneously battle devascularization with timely microvascular anastomosis, gross contamination with meticulous debridement, and amputation with stable fixation. In restoring a functional extremity, many of these goals are in contention with each other.

Objective: The study aimed to validate the Pangao PG-800B18 oscillometric upper-arm blood pressure monitor in the general population in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 81060-2:2018 and amendment (Amd) 1:2020 protocol.

Methods: Participants were recruited, and the same left-arm sequential method was used for blood pressure measurement in accordance with the protocol. Data validation and analysis were performed according to the protocol, and the Bland-Altman scatter plot was used to show the difference between the test device and reference results.

Introduction And Importance: Restoring lost teeth in the posterior atrophic maxilla presents a significant challenge due to insufficient bone volume for implant placement. Simultaneous implant placement during lateral sinus lift is often considered, but the decision is typically based on the amount of existing bone. The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of simultaneous implant placement and maxillary sinus floor augmentation in the atrophic posterior maxilla using autogenous bone ring.
