At low energies nucleon-nucleon interactions are resonant and therefore supernova matter at subnuclear densities has many similarities to atomic gases with interactions dominated by a Feshbach resonance. We calculate the rates of neutrino processes involving nucleon-nucleon collisions and show that these are enhanced in mixtures of neutrons and protons at subnuclear densities due to the large scattering lengths. As a result, the rate for neutrino pair bremsstrahlung and absorption is significantly larger below 10(13) g cm(-3) compared to rates used in supernova simulations.

Glitches, spin-up events in neutron stars, are of prime interest, as they reveal properties of nuclear matter at subnuclear densities. We numerically investigate the glitch mechanism due to vortex unpinning using analogies between neutron stars and dipolar supersolids. We explore the vortex and crystal dynamics during a glitch and its dependence on the supersolid quality, providing a tool to study glitches from different radial depths of a neutron star.

Chromatin attains its three-dimensional (3D) conformation by establishing contacts between different noncontiguous regions. Sterile Alpha Motif (SAM)-mediated polymerization of the polyhomeotic (PH) protein regulates subnuclear clustering of Polycomb Repressive Complex 1 (PRC1) and chromatin topology. The mutations that perturb the ability of the PH to polymerize, disrupt long-range chromatin contacts, alter Hox gene expression, and lead to developmental defects.
