Background: Considering the important role of pituitary gland in regulating various endocrine axes and its unique anatomical location, various postoperative complications can be anticipated resulting from surgery on pituitary tumors. We examined and categorized the immediate postoperative complications according to various tumor pathologies.

Materials And Methods: We carried out a prospective study in 152 consecutive patients and noted various postoperative complications during neurosurgical intensive care unit stay (within 48 hrs of hospital stay) in patients undergoing transsphenoidal removal of pituitary tumors.

Results: In our series, various groups showed different postoperative complications out of which, cerebrospinal fluid leak was the commonest followed by diabetes insipidus, postoperative nausea and vomiting, and hematoma at operation site.

Conclusion: Various immediate postoperative complications can be anticipated in transsphenoidal pituitary surgery even though, it is considered to be relatively safe.

Airway compromise due to prevertebral soft tissue swelling is a potentially devastating complication following anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). However, there are no studies on the postoperative patient posture for enhancing airway patency after ACDF. This study aimed to analyze the effect of neck and mouth postures on airway patency following ACDF and to suggest the beneficial postoperative patient posture for improving airway patency.

Department of General Surgery, Cancer center, Division of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Affiliated People's Hospital, Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital, Hangzhou Medical College, 310014, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

Despite the growing adoption of laparoscopic hepatectomy (LH) for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), there is no scoring system available designed to evaluate its surgical complexity. This paper aims to introduce a novel difficulty scoring system (DSS), designated as the Wei-DSS, exclusively tailored to assess the surgical difficulty of pure LH for ICC. We retrospectively collected clinical data from ICC patients who underwent pure LH at our institution, spanning from November 2018 to May 2024.

Objective: This study aims to enhance compliance with lower limb lymphedema (LLL) prevention care measures post-gynecologic oncology surgery (GOS) through quality control circle (QCC) activity, aiming to improve patient recovery outcomes and reduce postoperative complications.

Methods: A 6-month QCC activity was conducted within the hospital, employing the ten-step plan-do-check-act model for QCC activity. The root causes of inadequate implementation of LLL prevention care measures were analyzed, leading to the development of relevant strategies and protocols.
