Background: Allergic conjunctivitis is an inflammatory disease which involves the conjunctiva, its physiopathology is a type I hypersensitivity (IgE mediated). It is related to the sensitization to indoors and outdoors aeroallergens. Clinically it is classified as seasonal or perennial. It presents as ocular pruritus, conjunctival hyperemia, epiphora and photophobia.
Objective: To determine the frequency of sensitization to aeroallergens in patients with allergic conjunctivitis, seasonal and perennial, who attend the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Department at Mexican General Hospital Dr. Eduardo Liceaga.
Material And Method: A transversal and descriptive study was made in patients with seasonal and perennial allergic conjunctivitis. After informed consent, we obtained a complete clinical evaluation, laboratory studies and skin tests for aeroallergens. We determined the frequency of sensitization to those aeroallergens.
Results: We found sensitization most frequently to pollens such as Quercus, Alnus and Fraxinus, followed by Dermatophagoides spp. We had predominantly female patients of the second and fourth decades of life.
Conclusions: Allergic conjunctivitis is a pathology frequently associated with allergic rhinitis. The most frequently involved allergens in this study were pollens and house dust mite.

The goal of this analysis is to describe seasonal disaster patterns in Central Europe in order to raise awareness and improve hospital disaster planning and resilience, particularly during peak events. Hospitals are essential pillars of a country's critical infrastructure, vital for sustaining healthcare services and supporting public well-being-a key issue of national security. Disaster planning for hospitals is crucial to ensure their functionality under special circumstances.

The recent sea ice changes in the Northern Hemisphere (NH), necessitate elucidating the sea ice variability over the past 2.6 million years (Ma), when the Earth's glacial cycles transitioned from ∼41 to ∼100 kyr periodicity, following the Mid-Pleistocene Transition (MPT) period (0.7-1.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) sensitization and allergic rhinitis (AR) symptoms in school-aged children in Japan and to understand the current severity of AR symptoms and the quality of life (QOL) among children with AR. We analyzed data from 8-year-old children who participated in the Yamanashi Adjunct Study of the Japan Environment and Children's Study, focusing on those with complete information on specific IgE levels and AR (1229 for perennial AR [PAR] and 1196 for seasonal AR [SAR]). Sensitization was determined when allergen-specific IgE levels were class 2 (0.

The aim of this study was to examine how silages from different grassland species and harvesting frequencies affect feed intake, milk production, and methane (CH) emission in dairy cows. We hypothesized that cows consuming silages of more frequent harvest, grass species with greater organic matter digestibility and legumes with lower NDFom concentration would have greater silage dry matter intake and milk yield and thereby lower CH yield and intensity. Forty Norwegian Red cows were allocated to 5 treatments in a cyclic changeover design with 4 21-d periods (14 d of adaptation, 7 d of data collection).

Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is a commonly grown forage crop in Oregon and California harvested on 350,000 and 480,000 acres, respectively, in 2023 (USDA-NASS 2023). Forage alfalfa is grown as a perennial crop for about four years in the same field and each season, the crop is cut 3-4 times for hay production.
